Connecting at Sebring
I’ve been converting my 370Z to a full time track car and running it at Sebring. I have upgraded the car; now need to upgrade the driver. Anyone out there running at Sebring that’s interested in connecting to compare notes, or possibly meeting up at Sebring?
Thanks. |
Elmo370z does track days there.
|
I have been to and ran at Sebring before. Looking to improve on the driver mod?
|
Great meeting you out there. Unfortunately I wasn't running that day. You were running consistent 2:38's out there. Clean driving.
|
Thanks. Look forward to seeing you out there again.

I’ll be at Sebring Oct 12-13 with NASA. Hope to see you guys out there. Got down to 2:35 with new aero last time out. Targeting low 2:30 with new wheel/tire combo this time out.

in his car is very well set up. What tire and wheel combo are you running? I ran a 2:35 in the Z with those crappy Rs-4's. Did you post your time in the road racing section? |
Yes. Saying goodby to stock wheels and RS-4.s. Moved to 18x10.5 with 295 R888R’s all around. Still need to upgrade my diff; that will be next. I’ll probably be back out in Nov as well. Will also be hitting Daytona and Palm Beach before year-end.

Let me know when you plan to go to PBIR. I would love to do Sebring again, but probably won’t happen this year.

Went to Sebring last weekend with NASA. Only lasted first few sessions, then blew up diff. Nismo Pro 2.0 diff ordered from Z1 and on it's way. Probably won't have it back from Z1 and installed in time for Nov at Sebring. Instead, shooting for Daytona in early Nov and Palm Beach in early Dec. Also got Z1 fuel starv kit, which will help on the sweeping right turns. I also blew up my rear axel assembly. Any suggestions on a replacement? I'm naturally aspirated at 400hp, so no need for anything extreme.

Issues? I heard it’s highly recommended to have a dry sump you are able to keep steady oil pressure and not suck in air. |

Both cars were n/a with bolt ons, so for fi, perhaps a different issue with oil starve, btw, mike’s full on race car spec 370z never had oil starve there either iirc and he ran the **** outta that car, I believe all he had was a z1 oil pan spacer. Again, full bolt ons and n/a. |
The Z1 built diff with Nismo Pro should do fine in terms of temps. Comes with their modified diff cover. Yes, I’m going with OEM axels since I’m not boosted. Used ones are super cheap vs over $2k for higher end versions made for drag strip, which I don’t need. I’ve never had oil starve issues, even on turn 17 at Sebring with R compound tires. My shop installed “idiot lights” for me so I stay on top of that. I also upgrade s the gear from 3.69 to 3.9. Hoping to see better corner exit from that.

Nice! I only pulled off 2.34. Perfect day to be out there.
|
Nice seeing you out there again. Next time we should park closer in the pits. Track conditions were perfect! Once happy hour hit, it was great. It became difficult to get clean laps in with green group traffic. I finally got solo today, so I was off the leash in terms of pushing it more.
|
Nice driving! We take very similar lines, particularly 13-16, but you’re faster.
|
Check the 5 minute mark, I talked to the guy on YouTube. Cool guy
