Thank you! You should have stopped by! We had a ton of down time.

I hope you and the car are okay.

Long story short, I need to have the rear suspension raised and re-aligned, I just don't have time to get the car to a shop to take care of it.

What spring rate?

Not cool. I have had something similar but with no brakes at all. It officially became my nightmare dream from that day forward....LOL

I am pretty sure they're 13k front and 11k rear.

The diff completely changed the feel of the Z. My next track event is this saturday, so I can report back with my impressions, if you'd like.

I had a kaaz 1.5 prior to my wavetrac. For the street the wavetrac is way more suitable, its quiet, yet performs just as well as my kaaz lsd. The maintenance and the noisiness of the kaaz lsd is what made me switch, if my car was a pure track car, i would have kept it bc it performs just like its supposed to, just does not like going slow with its pops and clunks at slow turns. Oh and i ran 11.5 this weekend with my wavetrac =)

Which rear dif ?

Just an FYI as it doesn't say on vivid racings website (where I bought my wavetrac diff). You need to get two stub axel flanges if u have a base open diff, or if u have a vlsd u only need to buy one. Didn't know this until the shop called and said my base flanges didn't work :( it says this on wavetracs website, but I missed it as its a small link to a page with the extra parts info. Part number is 38220-JK01B

I think i only needed one stubb axle for mine bc i had the oem vlsd.

Hotrodz 05-07-2016 12:06 AM

Yup, I double checked their website several times lol even after Hojin gave me solid info...OCD that way lol!

YzGyz 05-07-2016 02:13 AM

Can you guys make a list with exactly which lsd, and what additional parts are needed for your installation? I get so confused reading one stub, 2 stub, spacer, shims, this and that this on open diff, that on vlsd.. A simple list of what is needed or you had to buy to install an aftermarket LSD would be greatly appreciated.

Base model: both stubs
Stock VLSD: one (right side) stub

Shims and spacers are a case by case basis, depending on the quality/tolerances of the diff you've purchased.

Yep the driveability on the wavetrac is so good, if u guys dont mind the pops and clunks sound of clutch type lsd. Go for them. But if u cant stand that noise like me, ur gonna love the wavetrac. Performance is great, low maintenance, and when ur in a parking lot or gas station, people wont stare at u bc they think ur car is about to break down, (kaaz clutch type lsd) lol. My brother actually called me when he took my car out and said he didnt feel safe bc he thought something was wrong. But i told him dont worry, the car hates going slow so drive fast. Hahaha

Hey guys, in talk with Wavetrac now for dealer status and initial buy in for discount. We'd need 5 to start. Anyone interested???

Darn wish this happened sooner. I will say this though. Vivid racing had a great deal on them. Better than what wavetrac was offering direct.

How much? More we buy the more discount we get. We both have to make money but our overhead im sure is lower. Initial buy in we probably will just sell for zero markup plus shipping.

Elmo370z 05-12-2016 11:31 PM

Wish i never clicked on this thread... what is the starting price?

synolimit 05-13-2016 06:53 AM

Looks like retail is $1295, vivid is $1191.40. I know we can crush that for a buy in.

hjo1078 05-13-2016 07:49 AM

Im just really glad, that i got the wavetrac, bc when i got it, there absolutely no reviews on it. I had to go off reviews for other cars. Just glad it wasnt a miss lol

Hotrodz 05-13-2016 08:57 AM

I was going to get it earlier but other mods had to come first then after your review I had to have it and I'm really happy I went with Wavetrac!

Me Too... LOL I may would be in.

JDM-JUNKIE 05-13-2016 02:44 PM

I highly recommend the KAAZ Super Q 2-way!
It's a mechanical clutch type, without any loud clunks or mechanical noise!!

The Q stands for quiet ; )
I've been running mine as a daily driver & drifter for over a year now & LOVE it! I would buy this diff again without hesitation- best diff I've ever had or felt hands down.

Spooler 05-22-2016 12:07 PM

After doing the one wheel wonder with my stock VLSD at the Dragon, I am in for one of these. Period.

Spooler 05-23-2016 01:13 PM

I think I am leaning toward the OS Giken or Wavetrac. Those are my two choice.

Hotrodz 05-23-2016 03:56 PM

Those were my two choices as we and I more than happy with the Wavetrac. It performed excellently on the Dragon in the wet.

I don't think you can go wrong with either the OSG or wavetrac

No one wheel wonders out of the tight turns? Stock was not too good. You can hear it on my up video. Z1NONLY has the video's of it in the wet. Not the fastest out there. LOL I need more seat time that is for sure.

Love my new Quaife, I missed the Dragon this year/ but did some mountain driving near Heavens Landing in Clayton Ga....I mostly was wanting to maximize traction from a standstill.https://vimeo.com/167823857
