Hotrodz how has the kit been going after these years? Or did you end up changing it for the CJM kit?

nic370 can you link or list the parts you used for your method, and how has it performed after the years also

Assume you both still have the Z.

I have changed it out for a Radium Engineering surge tank setup. CJM is also making a surge tank now!

Thanks. The version for use with our billet hanger (return fuel system cars only) is currently in pricing and assembly etc, so expecting to be ready for orders any day now. The standalone surge tank version that replaces our original Road Race Pump, or would compete with the current Radium kit, is still another month out or so.

I've been using CJM RRP for couple of years now.. I've been able to run with 1/4 tank @ NASA TT and suck the tank near dry with no problem. Best solution to put on the car to date.

The surge tank solution is another option for NA setups and is the best solution for being boosted at 600whp or more and you track your Z.

I've run my RRP almost dry a couple of times. One dot showing.

I did an upgrade fuel pump and opened up the venturi, has helped a lot. Ran down to about half tank at solo nats and that was on east course, no starvation there is a good sign. I think the stock pump is just so anemic it doesnt pull a strong enough siphon.

Ive suggested that people try that in a few places, though not in this thread. By upgrading the pump you are increasing the bypass fuel through the regulator and creating a stronger venturi. Venturi strength will also be preserved better as engine load increases, where a totally stock system will have a nearly dead venturi at full throttle.

Another thing you could do, that would make a huge difference... Add a pressure side venturi. Like the one I make for our 370z twin pump hanger. At stock fuel pressure it will be about a 24LPH fuel pressure leak, which you can easily spare, especially if you have upgraded the pump. For that, it transfers about 100lph at stock fuel pressure. Then take some Nylon or PTFE hose to zip tie to the stock siphon line, and connect it. Leave the stock venturi setup running how you have it, then add my pressure venturi for an additional 100lph of full time transfer that is working even at maximum fuel consumption.

It would act similar to putting the extra transfer pump on the driver side like some do. Its only 100lph compared to the electric pump, but I suppose you could do 2 of them for 200lph if you wanted. Then you dont have to worry about another fuel pump over there starving or wiring it or relays/switches etc.

Got my twin pump assembly in with dual 525’s,
Holley Hydramats were clocked as shown-so they fit flat on bottom of tank & underneath any baffling and crossover line :ugh2:
On a test run at battery voltage, each pump flowed just over 4.5qts. on an individual 30sec test & together flowed just over 9qts in 30sec.
Unsure how much fuel was pulling across from the Venturi, as I didn’t have a separate reservoir setup with tube installed.

XRP’s big bore HS-79 hoses are very light & flexible in the -8 size

Well done installation. That HS-79 probably ran you more than the pump hanger :D Its nice stuff indeed.

Will the new surge tank use a front mount regulator return? Only thing that freaks me out about Radium is the dead head aspect of it.

One surge tank product we offer is an add-on for our twin fuel pump kit. The twin fuel pump kit requires that the car already have an existing return system or requires that you add one at the time of installation. Because it does not have a post pump filter or regulator built-in.

The new RRP Gen2 kits coming can be run return fuel or returnless, just as the original RRPs could.
