so do you think my CE28s w/ 19x9.5+22 and 19x10.5+23 will work on the Z w/ sport brakes?

Ryan@Forged 12-17-2009 12:37 PM

It will work, but I would recommend a spacer in the rear to give it a flush fitment. We usually recommend a +12 in the rear.

shabarivas 12-17-2009 12:44 PM

man too bad there isnt a way for me to trade out just the rear... I really dont like spacers... Could you tell me what it would run to get some CE28s in 19x10.5 +12 just for the rear? Ill try selling my rears independently...

So you are saying it is 10mm too much on the inside for the rear right?

Caravanshaka 12-17-2009 12:55 PM

he is saying the wheels will be sunk in the wheel well about 10mm...it won't be horribly noticeable, but about 1 out of 50 ppl will notice it.

I'll send you a PM right now with a quote. Spacers are not ideal, but we have used them countless times with no ill effects.

The way it sits with the +22 is 10mm further inside the wheel well than the +12. It looks a little on the weak side.

I honestly don't think that is an accurate assessment.

10mm is a big enough difference to notice. If this were not true we would just recommend 350z sizing to everyone. There is a noticeable difference looking at a +22 next to a +12. You also have to realize the face of the wheel appears different as well. +12 is the hotness :icon17:

phelan 12-17-2009 01:54 PM

i'm running +22 in the rears with 295 tires...probably need to get some 10mm spacers. the 15mms i have are a bit...excessive.

shabarivas 12-17-2009 02:01 PM

Hey Phelan - can you post some pics w/ the 15mm spacer?

Well, I was running 19x10 +20 with my original set of wheels and never got a comment about the wheels being "sunk-in"...I knew it was there, but I even got asked by a vendor if the pic I sent of the setup had 10mm spacers with that offset.

Now I've got 19x11 +24 and am much happier with the fitment myself, but even to me, it wasn't a big enough difference that I'd look at the car and say "that looks terrible".

Keep in mind, stock wheels are 19x10 +30, and only about 5% of the population would ever pay attention to the fact that they are sunk in and not flush.

just my :twocents:

True, and I see your point. I in no way think a +22 would look terrible.

However, you also have to see if from my view point. I spend all day looking at cars and wheels to where I nit pick stuff :roflpuke2:

On a serious note, I think a large part of why most people would not notice is because of how sunk in the OEM wheels are. With that in mind I believe the majority of car enthusiasts would be able to notice, although it is highly unlikely anyone would ever say anything. +22 will still be significantly better than an OEM size, but +12 is...well perfect :)

:iagree:

+12 is the right offset for that size, and if you can swing it, get it. Just wanted to point out that +22 isn't going to kill the look, it's just that us enthusiasts (most of this forum, but small percentage of the people that actually see your car) will see them as a tiny bit sunk in.

10mm spacers will offer the same offset, and keep your options open as far as resale to be able to sell to 370 or 350...food for thought

Oh, and I'm definitely sure you can notice since you see more volks in 1 day than I've seen in a lifetime! :rofl2:

i don't have the 15mm on right now, this weekend i can put them back and snap a photo for you

heck, this weekend i'm supposed to be updating with lots of pics haha

but 15mm spacers on a +22 doable...yeah, i guess? i think amplified ran some insane offsets without issue. i want the 10mm to get me to that 12mm sweet spot.

lol caravan am i being retarded over 10mm? :roflpuke2:

Caravanshaka 12-17-2009 02:42 PM

not at all, I was going to put spacers on my original wheels cause it bothered me. IMO, do what makes YOU enjoy YOUR car better

B1nks 12-17-2009 02:52 PM

I had the opportunity to trade a member of my350 for his virtually brand new not even on the car 19x10 +30 and 19x11 +25 but was a bit wary because Forged recommends 19x11 +20 for the 370 and I didn't know how big of a difference it would have been. I am pretty sure I would be the first 370 with mag blue RE30 though ! I'm really liking my SSR Type-F right now though but it still is kinda sticking me in the back of my head to do the trade !

Ryan or Sharif could you comment on how big a difference it would be ? Would it be very noticeable ?

vipor 12-17-2009 03:17 PM

anyone know what size the stock Nismo wheels are? offset is the real question of course.

I believe they are identical to the RAYS( 19x9 +47, 19x10 +30). correct me if I'm wrong?

phelan 12-17-2009 03:22 PM

19x9.5 and 19x10.5 i think, let me check the offsets. i'd assume ~30 though?

yeah they are 19x9.5 and 19x10.5, but i'm not sure on the offset. i want to get an idea of possibly doing spacers or maybe different wheels. those TE37s......

Sorry, must have missed it the first time around. It would be 5mm more conservative in the rear. It will fit perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever.

SOLISIMO 12-30-2009 09:02 AM

ryan you have any black 20's in the TE37

Ryan@Forged 12-30-2009 09:17 AM

Not in stock, I would have to order them.

I can assure you that you are not going to want to pay the pricetag on the 20" TE37s. For some odd reason the price skyrockets going from the 19s to 20s. For instance, MSRP on a 20" set of TE37s is $6940...

SOLISIMO 12-30-2009 09:24 AM

You know what! I saw a set on ebay for around that price and i was like wth lol........

Ryan@Forged 12-30-2009 10:08 AM

lol, ya. 19s are definitely the way to go. They are at least reasonably priced :)
