Texas

So, I just moved from New York to Texas in beautiful Hill Country (New Braunfels area), and would like to get some advise on good dealers/service centers out here. I looked up several dealers in San Antonio and Austin, but would be great to get someone with experience on whom to avoid or embrace.

Thanks guys/girls :driving:

PS: You guys have some serious cops out here, first day and a ticket for 76 in a 70 zone, really? Must have been my NY plate I assume :hello:

I purchased my car from Sewell motors in Dallas. They have 16 locations. Had them ship it to WV so can't comment on service dept. Good luck.

Welcome to Texas alvitdk,

Let me tell you about them cops here. They don't play around very rarely will you get a freebie here. If you have very dark tint get used to the tickets. No front plate there is a nice 80 dollar fine waiting for you. LOL

I live in El Paso, TX. I have been to New Braunfels plenty of times when I visited peeps in San Antonio and Austin. I am sure someone here will be able to recommend someone in your area.

Welcome. I'm a displaced Ny'er living in Tx. Enjoy being free from facsism.
I'm from Brooklyn... where you're from?
Yeah it's the NY plates that earned you that ticket. They usually don't ticket out here till you're about 10 over on the highway and about 7 over on the street.

Lol, you guys must have the WORST luck... I got pulled over so many times without a ticket. Last trip was 84 in a 65 going from Dallas to Houston, lol. No ticket
(Worst was at 11PM, 53 in a 35... With my lights off... And no license plate... Or registration... Or proof of insurance... LOL)

So, I'm now officially a Texan (If thats what you call it :-) ), have TX plates and a temp drivers license. Now regarding tinted windows, somehow screwed me over. I know we have 77% factory tint, and I had installed in NY a tint of 35%, which should technically result in about 27% all together. I did that purposly as Texas allows 25% on the side windows. Now, before getting Texas plates I had to get my car inspected and his meter measured 15%, so I had to remove the tint in order to pass the inspection. First of all, how does anyone has darker tint, if you get it measured at inspection every year, no such thing in NY, but OK that's how it is. But how did I end up at 15% with a 35% installed tint, just weird.

Any idea, and a good recommendation for New Braunfels tinting shop?
