What: Houston-to-Corpus Christi Cruise

Why: To start 2013 with an EPIC cruise from Houston to Corpus Christi!

When: Saturday, January 26th

~ Destination: Hooters Corpus Christi

~~ Arrival: Approx. 1:00pm

Cruise Safety:
Ladies and Gentlemen. This will be a 100% SAFE Fun Run to Corpus Christi. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for anyone driving unsafe. If you are reported to me for being unsafe and causing danger to others. I will talk with you 1 on 1 privately. If it happens again, you will be asked to leave. We have all spent tons of $$$ and wrench time on our rides. Lets NOT mess them up because one "show-off" was trying to be cool.

- Do NOT drive outside of your ability.
- Do NOT show-off unsafely.
- Do NOT tailgate others.
- Do NOT shoulder pass.
- Control your passengers.
- Use signals.
- Wear seat belts.
- Keep the N20 bottles closed and the boost on low.
- Use your head.

Fun Run Gear:
- 2 Way Radio. (Will keep you informed on what's happening on the fun run)
- ID.
- Sunglasses.
- Vid camera or Go-Pro mounted camera.
- Comfortable driving clothing.
- Lunch $$$.
- Full tank of gas.
- Sexy copilot
- Clear inspection & registration.

I'm interested indeed... I'll have to check my schedule, but the last time i went Houston to South Padre it took me well over 5 hours. Planning on spending the night out there or doing anything while there?

Yea it isn't. 4 hour drive... But from Stafford it might be lol. I'll see if my book will be open for those days. Would love to join. Haven't been down there in ages. Like someone else posted is it just for the day or yall staying the night? I guess if just end up staying there and enjoying the beaches lol.

nice, put me in as a maybe.. I think im off Wednesday-Sunday of that week this might be a good thing to do. IDK about having a sexy co pilot though.. any female Z owners who wants to go but dont want to drive HMU!!!! lol JK!

I understand it's not a 4hr drive. But with the stop and knowing nothing goes exactly as timely planned, I give an extra hour so drivers can prepare for a long day.

Also I'm planning on staying the night and heading back early morning.

I'm tentatively going, barring work stuff for those days coming up between now and then. Guess I've got a few months to find a sexy co-pilot :) I haven't been down to Corpus in forever, but I spent a few years in the area when I was a kid (well, in a smaller town a bit inland). Got a few relatives in the area I could drop by the next day anyways.

Is this only for Houstonians? I know a couple of us from the Rgv maybe interested in meeting with you all in Corpus.

I signed up on your facebook page as a "maybe" This sounds fun, and its a nice drive down there. The course is probably set but driving coastal Hwy 35 is awesome from Matagorda all the way to Corpus!

I think me and my buddy will be hitting this up. Too early to tell but it's looking good.

I used to fly T-34s out of NAS Corpus. I loved that job and loved the wind and beach there too. Have fun cruzin'!!!!! Wish I could join you.

whats the plan for coming back? Are yall getting a hotel and staying until sunday or leaving after a full stomach saturday?

I am leaving that option open to the drivers. I don't want someone to feel; 1) Obligated to stay 2) Drive outside their means. Everyone should make that judgement on how they feel.

Personally, I'll most likely stay the night and leave in the morning. That is what I'm currently planning. :tup:

Yes I do, which now seems like a good idea to stay the night. I once made a spring break road trip in high school to SPI. My friends and I had food and a drink then we agreed to take turns driving my car since it was getting late. He took the 1st half while we fell asleep....long story short...I woke up to my car spinning on 77 and landing in a ditch. I asked him what happened and he answered, "I dont know??? I just woke up and we were spinning!" I wasnt very happy with him :shakes head:

Well we don't want a re run of that episode. Ill be staying the night as well. We should game plan a hotel!

Will do, going to look at the Holiday Inn since I'm a priority club member! See what I can work out!

I'd rather just get a hotel as well and drive back in the morning. Let us relax when we get there at least.

Same here I'll be more inclined to stay the night just incase I decide have a couple of adult beverages.

Lucky you! There is a Holiday Inn ON the beach. It's on Ocean Drive, just before the sea wall and downtown. ;)
