at least you're not sitting in a parking lot of a water park waiting on the rest of your family.

How did that happen?

My mom's wonderful planning skills lol. Still sitting here wait while watching storm clouds roll by.

^I won't blame you - the weather forecast is sloppy these days. It was supposed to be 10% on friday and it rained all morning.

That day when that "storm" came through, it was showing yellow over my area...not a drop of rain!

p.s. any small meets this week? I've had the car for two months but I haven't been to any gatherings! :(

Not sure! I'm polishing and sealing the Z today. Taking a break for food, but, I am normally free Monday:s and Tuesdays. I work nights otherwise.

Pintsize725 06-22-2015 05:09 PM

I don't have a Z anymore soooo......

Didn't quite finish up this evening. Just need to do the front left fender and front bumper, then apply sealant.

I'll wake up and finish in the morning. Never want to do this again. >.>

I know! Started at 6am yesterday. Just finished the sealant.

Worked till about 2:30, took a break to grab food wirh Mrs. Pint and co, started again about 7 till 10ish. Worked from 6:30 till 9:30.

I had never polished mine, so I had to do two stages.

What are you using for the polish?

The V36/V38 stuff that came with my Torq DA orbital. It worked well! Probably a 90% swirl reduction.

Did you have rock chips or any imperfections in your paint before doing this? Mine has eaten some rocks as of late and I think it's too late for my paint, the damage is done kinda thing... I really don't want to re-paint because I'm so scared no one will do it right.

I had my pearl white resprayed at Caliber Collision on 620 and the match was spot on.

H&R in Leander matched my husband's red 350Z really well too.

Yeah, it's been my DD for a bit over a year so it has rock chips abound. I stopped worrying about it after the first three or so. Or maybe it was the pole I backed into the first night I had the car. Dunno!

So, while the rock chips stand out a tad bit more now, the rest of the paint looks really nice. There are still swirls, but not nearly as many and it's super shiny. :D I'm happy with the results.

Your silver is likely MUCH more forgiving than black. Hell, anything is likely more forgiving than black. The metallic flakes pop like crazy now though, I really like it.

Basically this.

Chemical Guys BUF_501X - TORQ® 10FX Random Orbital Polisher Kit (9 items)

Seems like this is the normalized price wherever you find it now.
