Alright, so a few of us from the DFW area are starting our own weekly meet! :tup:

I'll try to update this post if anything changes.

I was also thinking that we could merge our meet with the monthly Z meet once a month... What do you all think?!

I just got to NRH this week and don't really know my way around anywhere. Hopefully somewhere centrally located so I don't have to drive clear cross town.

Yeah, we're trying to see where everyone's located so we can decide on a central location :tup:

I roam around Collin County, so I'm all over Plano, McKinney, Frisco... but I don't mind driving

I'm down for any Bedford/Euless NRH or Arlington area, actually I'm down for anywhere but Dallas. I'm near downtown Fort Worth

I'm down for whatever. It looks like there a few of us in the midcities area, so somewhere between North Richland Hills to Irving would make the most sense, maybe even the Grapevine area.

I live in Grand Prairie but I work close to Irving and hang out in Plano all the time anyway.

i'm in Mckinney but dont mind driving to wherever

I'm not really familiar with the mid-cities but I think either Las Colinas or n. Irving would somewhat half-way between Haltom City and McKinney

DFW Meet
 

I live in the Keller area. HEB, mid cities area sounds great. To be fair to everyone, suggest alternating locations.

^^Yeah but I doubt ppl in fort worth will be driving all the way to north dallas and vise versa

I agree, I think this would probably be about as mid point as you get in DFW. Anybody know any good spots?

Yea I'm essentially clueless about DFW except for possibly Plano/Richardson/Addison area. Hopefully we can meet this week, while the weather is nice.

EDIT: What kind of a venue are you guys looking for? A restaurant with a bar? and what price point?

- in for an occasional meet on Thursdays
- out this week (happy hour and friend's b-day)
- coming from Frisco but don't care on location

There aren't a lot of restaurant bars in Irving but I found 2 that MAY be doable and relatively close to the Las Colinas/Irving area

Any medium priced restaurant/bar with a patio is good for me.

Put me down for this thursday. Forgot to add I'm not too concerned with price point just as long as parking is good. A bar is a plus.

As of right now, I'm liking Blue Fish more than Champps. Blue Fish's dinner entree can be expensive but their sushi is reasonably priced.

My vote is for Champs, but can't make it this Thursday. Could make it the 24th.

My vote is for Champps and I will be there tomorrow...wherever we decide to go. We should keep in mind though that we can always change the location if we don't like it, it's hardly permanent.

NVMMMM. I just realized I have a fam. dinner event tonight. Normally, I'm down.

Well today is St. Patrick's day so I'm assuming this place will be packed plus people might have other plans. We can move it to next week.

I'm not a big fan of crowded bars/restaurants so I'd rather go next week lol

I'm down to make this meet sometimes. Can't guarantee that it'll be every time or even too regularly, or that my Z will be clean though lol.

I'm in Euless and tend to venture toward Fort Worth more often, but I can go North/East some.


There used to be a sushi place off of MacArthur North of 635 that was awesome and has a huge lot. I think it's called Hoshi now. It's up on a hill so it kind of overlooks Valley Ranch. There's a pho and Indian place that are nearby too.

Another good area would be Buffalo Wild Wings at 635 and MacArthur. There's OTB, Chili's, IHOP, and Razzoos right there too.

In regards to Grapevine, it'd be convenient for me and I'm sure other people, but everyone North/East of there would have a PITA time getting through the Northgate construction to get there so soon after rush hour. Us West and South have the luxury of using 183/161 to get North without too much difficulty.

Good point with St. Patty's day today. The thought of crowded parking lots filled with the drunken masses is a little off-putting. I like the idea of either pho or sushi. As time ticks down we need a count of people actually showing up.

Either way I guess someone pick a place, otherwise it's gonna default to meeting at Champps then figuring things out from there. So far people that are showing up tonight:

It looks like Blue Fish was the second choice for venue this week, so we will plan on it as of now, unless someone has a better venue. FYI: Blue Fish also has a bar but I'm almost sure there will be a different crowd of people.
