Additionally, might be a stupid question, but is there some type of windshield that is better replacement glass than other? I know I want OEM but is there any type of coating or anything they can put on to make it less susceptible to cracks/chips?

Some companies might try to give you a cheaper glass but I would go with oem for resale purposes, especially if your insurance is replacing it.
