Z's, Beer, and Hockey March 6th
 

This has turned into an event instead of just a meet. The Allen Americans team is now going to sponsor a car-show along with Nissan of McKinney. Entrance fee to the car-show will also include a hockey ticket.

Show will be from 5:00 to 7:00 with the game starting at 7:30. It will be located in Dodies Place parking lot right next to the Allen Event Center at the southeast corner of highway 75 and Stacy Rd. Entry will be $27 for show, t-shirt, and a hockey ticket. Additional tickets to the game for spouses/friends are $17.

I am planning on being there between 4-4:30 to help setup and get my car in a prime spot. If you want to meet up early and grab a beer before so we can all setup next to each other then we can plan to be there at 4. If you want my contact info PM me your number and I'll send you a quick text so you have my number as well.

Dodie's is like 50 yards from the Stadium entrance. So park there.

will the parking be cramped is what i'm asking? or will we be able to park together somewhere?

sounds like a great time!! Wish I were closer... I love hockey and I play goalie in 2 mens leagues here in Nashville. I don't think we have ever lost a 4th period!!!! (for those not hockey educated.. the 4th period in hockey is at the bar!)

Meh, never really got into watching sports all that much. And I quit drinking last year. It gets really awkward w/ me anywhere w/ people drinking. Like "wtf are y'all laughing about? Jesus, why are you naked? or Why do I have to pick the naked drunk guy off the toilet? Again?...." Oh wait, that was a work party...

Well there is plenty of parking. I'd say if we went out 100 yards there would be plenty consecutive spaces, and close to Dodie's too.

ok, sorry I have been gone all weekend, been pretty busy. Anyways, think I updated the list, although I should have done 0o7M3ch just to be a pita :)

As far as parking goes, it does get pretty crowded for game nights. We could take a strip of the parking garage to ourselves if we want, or maybe I could talk to the Event center staff I know and see if we can get a VIP section setup for the Z's and pop hoods and everything while we eat at Dodies???

Dreamer, I'll check with the wife and see how she feels about company...I've got 2 guest bedrooms, but she'll be like 7 1/2 months pregnant so may be a little crabby about havin someone we've never met crash here.

yeah work on getting us like 10 spots or something if you are able. hopefully they'd be understanding.

i may be able to talk to the gf Dreamer, we have an extra room. she doesn't like hockey though lol. i'll feel it out, but keep looking in the time being.

well, they always block off the road between dodies and the arena, sometimes there are promotional vans and stuff parked there, so maybe they'll let us go in and park like a small car-show.

Maybe getting in contact with the owner(s) and seeing if they can mark off X number of spots for us if they want.

ya, I'll make some phonecalls. Being a season ticket holder I've already gotten some "extra" treatment for different things, I'll let them know I can supply around 10 tickets if they let us do a little park'n'show in the front or something :tup:

You wrote source, but yes I play mainly TF2 currently, only because 1.6 has a 1:1 hacker ratio, to lazy to buy MW2, and source sucks. :p

so I ran a couple things by my sales associate for the hockey tickets, and we are thinking of making it a decent sized car-show with raffles, trophies, food, and beer!

I suggested $25 to enter the show, get a t-shirt (I'll be pushing to have my Z on the shirt with some of the hockey team stuff), a raffle ticket, and a ticket to get into the game. I'll try and get everyone on the forums here hooked up with a bit of a discount as well :tup:

I'm thinking probably around 50 cars, maybe 3-5 categories, and a plaque goes to the winner of each group. Drink specials and live music at Dodies...etc

Sounds awesome, 25 bucks for a car show is cheap in my mind. Shows in Houston are 50 most of the time or 75-100 for the really big ones.

Hey Caravan - I'm in! I live near stacy and 121 so I can make it there all too easy. not sure if i can stay for the whole game due to previous obligations, but I'll definately be there for the get together. besides... i never knew where dodies moved to until now. :nutswinger:

cool! it's weird there are so many guys on the forum in the same basic area, but i still rarely if ever see another 370 on the road in town.

needforz is in the neighborhood too, but i havent seen him in the forum in quite a while.

Anyways, Last I heard they called an emergency meeting last night to discuss it in more detail and decide if it would work out as a car show, so I'll keep you posted when I hear how the meeting went.

Sounds like fun and an excuse to take the new car on a road trip! Hopefully i can get my suspension and wheels before then. For now im 60/40, its a decent drive for me living in SA.

- And to those playing CS.. id be down to join in on the fun! I played in CAL back in the day. I mostly play source now, but im up for some 1.6!
