Anyone know anything more on this website? Been doing research again on 7 character custom plate, and this website keeps popping up in forums. Could be the answer to all those who want 7 characters it seems, but at a very large price maybe.

Looks legit to me, also shows how people have those UH, UT, ect... plate designs.

Well those UT/UH are actually normal plates, these are custom plates that Texas awarded a contract to a company to produce. Basically to make "better" custom plates or more individualistic.

Per the FAQ I found on the website:
When will seven digit personalized license plates be available?
We anticipate a possible limited release of 7-character personalized license plates in autumn 2010. A date for a full release of 7-character personalized plates has not yet been announced. Customers interested in this should contact our Customer Service Center and register their interest.

The fact they say "limited" to mean means, huge money maker. Which means they might try to force people to drop extra money just to get 7 characters because it is in such high demand.

Just went to the old Texas custom plate website and it sends you to this website, looks like they completely outsourced it to this contract company.

I'm ordering my OIF plates with "2XGT28" this month. :D

it's a name i use from time to time playing CS and other games. usually my "fun" name whereas vipor is the name i used to compete under.

I was at the courthouse about a month ago to register my Tundra, and there was this chick in line who told me she was there to pick up her personalized plates. She said she ordered the plates 6 months ago and they just barely came in. She called them (the court place where you get your car registered), and they told her there was a lock-down for awhile at the prison where the plates were made, thus, her plates got pushed back SIX months..hahahah

my plates took 2-3 weeks/ 14 business days

Just soo dang expensive for 1 year! Just rubs me the wrong way. I don't mind the 6 characters because i already know checked for my plate. * Eatting into my intake money *

Jay, do you still have to go downtown to pick up your plates or do they finally mail them to your house?

It is the county you live in where they mail them. They are mailed to the County courthouse. For me they were mailed to Galveston courthouse. I then called them and they interofficed them to the annex court closer to me.

I ordered mine off myplates.com. Just got it in today, I too wanted 7 digit originally. I got impatient and decided to just make it work with 6.

man i was stoked to order mine then i saw the price. $200 for one year?!?!?!?! f u c k that texas DPS aint getting one more penny from me. had the price been resonable and longer than a year then fine. highway robbery if u ask me

It should be $85 for the plain looking Texas plate.

The Texas DMV only gets a small percentage of that fee, most of it goes to the company "Myplates". The lady at the Tax office told me.

yeah i was looking at the black plate with one large white star. its 200

I got the other black one, with the las vegas style white border around it. As soon as they got here I taped them off and painted them solid black.

man you cannot alter a licence plate. i know what your doing is not making the letters harder to read, but you cannot alter a plate in any way shape or form.

True statement. Even know no one would probably bat an eye to it, you can't do it.

Apparently there's going to be a massive auction for 7-digit plates at Cowboys Stadium in January.

I believe it is sooner than that, cannot find my thread on it here but if I do I will be able to find the exact date.

Lame, guess I have to wait longer to get my custom plate.
