My 2 cents on Stillen

I purchased my 370Z back in July and have added Stillen's oil cooler, transmission cooler, cat back exhaust and supercharger. My dealings with Stillen have all been great. Mark has called about once a week to check on the me and the car for the past three weeks. With all of the Stillen upgrades the car has really become a blast to drive as a daily driver or on the track.

Awesome to hear! Thanks for taking the time to post! :D

Josh, The car had the check engine light come on today because of the O2 sensors so I emailed Mark about the problem and after discussing it and sending a picture they agree the car is running rich. Mark is working on how we can work on the tune with a local tuner on a dyno to solve the problem. Things like this are seldom perfect so it's the service after the sell that counts and so far I am very pleased with the way Stillen is handling this situation!

It's rare, but we have seen some vehicles and ECU's that need some adjustment. Happy to work with you until everything is dialed in. PM me if I can help, but sounds like everyone is taking care of you. :)

I can't even begin to say how jerky you guys handle customer service! I couldn't be more disappointed with a company I gave $10K. I thought I believed in Stillen only to be disgusted with the results!

Mr. Willis, I am very concerned and confused by your recent post. After we spoke last week you had informed me that the car was running rich. Because you frequently use your car on the track you had mentioned that you were thinking of having it custom tuned so that the car was going to be setup for your environment, your fuel, and your uses. Even though at this time we did not have any information as to why the car may be running rich, and at this point you had received the tuned kit you had purchased, I offered to give you a full refund on the tuning portion if you could send us back the cable and license.

What we found out later when the car was with your tuner is that the car ran exactly the same way whether you were using our canned tune, or the tune that they had developed for you. The car would run great for 7 or 8 minutes, then all of a sudden the air/fuel ratios would wildly fluctuate. Your tuner agreed that there was nothing wrong with our tune or his, there must have been something with the installation. Agreeing with your tuner we suggested to check the following items:

Double check the wiring
clean the MAF sensors
double check the cooling system to make sure there wasn't an air pocket.
They then asked for you to call them after this had been done.

That was on the 30th and we have not heard anything until this post.

We would like to see you enjoying your car and would like to assist in identifying what the problem is. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 800-576-2131. My direct extension is 173.

I really dont understand this post. Right now I read a post from Willis on the 31st that has no explanation, no history, no nothing. I will always giive people the benefit of the doubt till they are guilty of something. Right now I see nothing. Yes I have been around this site as well as MY37 & My350Z for the last few years so I know of the many stories.

The kit is now running great after Harry at ZTuner.com got rid of the Stillen tune that had the car blowing black smoke. Kyle and Mark both seemed like they were trying to help and were very nice but every tech person we spoke to just wanted to blame the install. I've gotten better tech help from India than I did Stillens tech jerks. It had nothing to do with the install and 100% to do with the Stillen tune. I absolutely love the kit but I would recommend anyone that buys one to buy the tuner kit and find a good tuner.

Ditto!

I had some interaction with Grant (related to an existing purchase) and he applied discretion and accommodated my needs. They were very quick to deliver the parts too!

I'll be dealing w/ them in the future w/o hesitation.

I want that Stillen Supercharger that runs around $6,500, but that's the parts, I am afraid to ask the install price!

Mine was around $1500 and then $500 for a real tune. If you decide to do it buy the tuner kit and find a good tuner! I've been very happy with everything I have bought from Stillen except the caned tune and the response from the "tech guys". Mark Dorman and Kyle Millen were great and I will order from them again if I need something. The lesson I learned here was I messed up thinking someone could tune my car from the other coast. The lesson cost me a bunch of money and had me pissed off but in the end I love how the car runs now!

Its was good chatting with you today Jason! Hope you had a blast at Sebring and glad you're enjoying your car so much now :)
