The problem with these owners is they think they are managers as well. They really have no knowledge on running a successfull club when it comes to squad depth, training, physios, and even the fans. Fans play a huge part. We have seen it with Newcastle lately and you can see it in the big debt clubs like Liverpool and MUFC where the owners came in and just splashed money around not really klnowing the background and the game. Man City is looking like a circus and I think in the next few years, that tent will come down as well.

I'll be off to the Olde Ship in about an hour! 2-1 to the glorious United!

It will not be long before Sam, with his exceptional management experience, is back in a managerial post."
glades while I agree with you about the owners, this quote from the LMA representative had me laughing for a while. Embracing new concepts? Progressive and forward thinking?

How the f*ck is an Allardyce club forward thinking??? It's hoof long throw ins and crosses to the biggest, loudest, and most aggressive defenders you can find and hope for a header!!

God I want to take a half day to watch the Arsenal match :(

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!

edit: word is we get Szczesny in goal!! this is make or break for him, if he puts in a good shift, then he could be really pushing Fabianski for the No. 1 already!

too bad about the hero, Manuel Almunia, who is destined to leave us in January though :(

Song is going to have to be HUGE today. With Fab out, I have a feeling Diaby will get the nod over Wilshere for his physical presence. Fletcher and Anderson are going to be a handful physically, so AW's probably going to shift to a more neutral attacking formation with emphasis on defense in the midfield with the wings pushing forward. My anticipated 11:

Pollock

Sagna - Squill - DJ - Clichy

Nasri - Song - Diaby - Arshavin

RvP

Chamakh

Red370 12-13-2010 12:16 PM

Match finishes in a 2-1 win for the Arsenal, game winner scored between 80-90, set piece, Song with the header. Nasri opening the scoring, 30+ minutes. Rooney for ManUre.

phelan 12-13-2010 12:19 PM

wait, is diaby even fit?? i thought he didn't pass physical!

Szczczczczzccesny(R)

Sagna - Squid - DJ - Clichy

Song - Wilshere

Nasri - RvP - Arshavin

Chamakh

Walcott on bench if needed. I don't think 4-4-2 is going to cut it against ManUre. That, and I didn't see a good partnership last time chamakh and RvP were up there together. Looked...haphazard, to say the least.

Goal.com thinks SAF is rolling out the 4-5-1 formation and dropping Berbs from the starting XI, and rolling out the old guard of Giggs and Scholes. That'll be interesting, given they're both old returning from various injuries. Park gets dropped as well.

Huh.

Anyway I don't want to get drawn into a guess to the final score. I want a good match though, AW needs to make sure this team doesn't fold if it concedes first. Evra's comments should've irritated them enough to want this as bad as the fans want it.

Is he hurt? when the eff is he not? I'm not sure if AW would start Jacky, I figured he'd leave him on the bench because its such a pivotal match and wants all the experience on the field as he can get, although Jacky is a stud and is work rate is HUGE, hes a bit undersized against ManUre's midfield.

phelan 12-13-2010 12:25 PM

He's been out for a while now dude.

Abou Diaby (Ankle)

Last Updated: 10 December

Abou has an ankle injury and has not featured since the Champions League game against Shakhtar on October 19. He was ruled out of the Premier League clash against Manchester United.
If he starts Denilson in front of Jack, I'm going to burn something.

phelan 12-13-2010 01:48 PM

HERE WE GO BOYS!!!

Szczesny

Sagna - Squillaci - Koscielny - Clichy

Song - Wilshere

Arshavin - Nasri - Rosicky

Chamakh

Cesc is on the bench for emergency purposes?

NOT happy Djourou has been dropped.

batman_4 12-13-2010 03:52 PM

"Who put the ball in the Arsenal net? Arsenal net...Arsenal net?!?!"

Gotta say it wasn't as exciting as years past and holy sh%t Rooney...WTH? I about fell off the barstool on that one. Clichy got raped a number of times and Chamakh and Nasri got shut down right proper. Szcecny showed great promise in goal as well but damn you can't deny the fact that United's defense is rock solid.....I got nervous when Theo came on and Arsenal owned the last quarter of the game with their attacking. Anyway...Boddingtons was flowing well after the game had ended.
