I thought that was a pretty good race. I was pulling for Nico and Lewis even harder than I normally do after Vettel made his comments in qualifying. That smug bastard assumed he would have no trouble dispatching the inferior Mercedes.

It's too bad Lewis had the pit issue, otherwise he could have finished on the podium.

Lewis did a very good job holding up the pack in the first stint too.

I just feel pity for Raikkonen which his race was ruined by Perez.... :shakes head:

I don't know if I'd blame that all on Perez. I know when I saw it, it looked like Kimi should have yielded but instead he decided to push Perez into the wall. Not saying Perez is totally innocent but just that Kimi should have yielded.

I'll let the video tells the story...

I say Perez is at fault base on:

1) His front wing hadn't even passed the rear wheel of Raikkonen's, how can he say he was passing Raikkonen?

2) Raikkonen did chose a closer line than usual, however, it is a normal maneuver to close the door when defending position.

3) Perez, do you really expect others should slow down and open a gap for you to pass?

4) I would actually say Perez slammed his front wing into Raikkonen's rear wheel.

1) His front wing hadn't even passed the rear wheel of Raikkonen's, how can he say he was passing Raikkonen? Initial contact was wheel to wheel

2) Raikkonen did chose a closer line than usual, however, it is a normal maneuver to close the door when defending position. Completely agree

3) Perez, do you really expect others should slow down and open a gap for you to pass? Completely agree

I guess we just see it differently.

I just like Perez's attitude of driving 11/10 all the time even if it means pissing off other drivers and teams.

KIMI shouldn't have yielded on principle. It was a desperation move by Perez.

Now, for self preservation, Kimi should have yielded. :icon17:

gomer_110 05-28-2013 12:28 PM

In the grand scheme of things it was nothing more than a big game of chicken. Both were hoping the other would yield out of fear for crashing out.

Kudos to Perez for trying, though. You really have to put your *** on the line if you want to pass at Monaco.
