i have so much devils stuff at my house it's sick that i'm a die hard pens fan. my uncle was a trainer for the devils so i got a bunch of stuff and met most of the players over the past few years.

The refs were carp in that game. I was there, there should have been 4-6 penalties against the flyers that weren't called, including goal tender interference that was not called on a goal! Im not saying Toronto played well enough to win, im just stating flyers had it handed to them by the refs.

Dude, hockey isn't basketball, its not controlled by the refs.

I agree they missed the goalie interference. Hockey is an amazing game in that some bounces and bad calls will go against you and in favor of you throughout the season. In my mind it evens out in the end... :tup:

I am in the very southern part of NJ which is historically a Philly fan area for some reason. Marty is a legend and I have nothing but respect for him and the Devils organization. That is really awesome about your uncle and meeting some of the team!

Refs control every sport! Baseball, basketball, soccer, football, & yes hockey ! If a goal shouldn't count dues to interference but the ref doesn't call it, that's controlling the game. If a team clearly gets tripped 4 times with no call, that's controlling the game. U must not have watched that game cause it was clear as day what the refs were doing. It was embarrassing for me to bring my god son to the game, which is a huge flyers fan., even he said what is going on with the refs @ 16 years old. So don't say refs don't control hockey games. they control every game in every sport.

Yea Marty is a awesome guy. We've gone out to dinner with him before and he's came over my uncles when I was there. My favorite time was goin out one time with Paul Martin and another defenseman. Really down to earth guy

And yes I still could never figure out why southern jersey likes Philly lol
