Silva has the advantage if they stand, but GSP has the advantage on the ground. Will also be good to watch GSP's takedowns vs Silva's takedown defense. I wonder if Silva will do something crazy like drop his hands and let GSP try to hit him. It's worked for Silva in the past, but he hasn't done it to anyone at the level of GSP. Though I'd have to imagine GSP would go for a takedown at that point.

Silvia is for sure weak on the ground.

But like we learned in the first fight with Sonnen, you can never count him out of the fight or think he's done. That may be where GSP's inability to finish could hurt him.

Honestly, pre-injury, i would say that it wouldn't because i would bet on GSP's conditioning over everyone elses. The man just doesn't lose steam. Granted, I too, am a GSP fanboy. Ever since My main man randy couture retired.

I didn't say it was because of GSP's conditioning. Just that Silva always finds a way to win, no matter how the fight is going.

I think GSP gives up too much in weight. Even at a 178 lb catch weight fight. That's very close to the top weight for GSP where Silva will likely weigh 200+ on fight night. I just think that and Silva's speed is too much for GSP to overcome. Look at the Edgar vs. Henderson fight as an example. Edgar is maxed out at 160 and Henderson is 170+ on fight night.

I'm not a Silva fanboy either, although I am starting to appreciate his fights more, now that he's finishing them.

Last time GSP tried to put on a little weight, he looked terrible. That was in his last fight against Shields.

Exactly. There was even word from his team sometime ago, that it would make more sense for him to move to 155 than moving up to 185.

GSP came out very aggressive and I loved it. Hendricks is a beast. Silva made an interesting comment before the fight though. He indicated that he might be open to a fight with Jones after a fight with GSP. I think the Silva vs GSP fight will be a lot closer than I had previously thought.
