So would I. Though I think Bendo will come in with a smart strategy and try to keep the fight on the ground.

speedfreek 03-04-2013 12:43 PM

No one watched the fights on Fuel from Japan? The KO from Hunt was crazy! He knew soon as he landed the hook it was over. Then to find out he broke his jaw. Stann vs Silva was a great fight. It sucked one of them had to lose but since Stann moved up for a one time only fight against a legend I don't think it puts him any worse for wear in the middleweight picture. He just needs to focus on getting some wins in that division and marching to the top. I was happy that Silva was able to get a win in Japan for old times sake. There may not be much left in the tank for him but he still is a warrior and comes to fight.

b1adesofcha0s 03-04-2013 12:46 PM

I didn't watch them, but sounds like I might want to check out the highlights later.

Struve's jaw... :o

Stefan Struve Tweets X-Ray of Broken Jaw Following KO Loss to Mark Hunt | Bleacher Report

speedfreek 03-04-2013 12:55 PM

Yea I only got to see the last few fights. Sounds like the earlier fights weren't anything exciting. The Hunt vs Struve fight was slow as Hunt isnt exactly a cardio machine but he hits hard. Late in the third he ends it with some big shots.

I am loving all the GSP talk. I'm already on record as saying I do not think Diaz will take the belt from him unless Diaz gets away with just wanting to stand and box and actually trying to submit him earlier than later like he did in the Condit fight. GSP is ducking my man Hendricks. Frankly I would too. He doesn't want to fight him. Trying to belittle his accomplishments as #1 contender since he split a decision with Koschek. He must of not seen his other fights where he KO's them. Oh wait maybe that is the real reason for not wanting the fight. He his hoping Condit can knock Hendricks back down the ladder. But if Hendricks gets the win. There is no one left but him as the rightful contender to the belt. Hendricks will be highly motivated. Expect a KO. Big Rig ain't got no time for dat!

Evans vs Hendo and Shogun vs Little Nog scheduled for UFC 161 in June. Neither of these are the main event though, which has yet to be announced.....

speedfreek 03-06-2013 02:03 PM

UFC 162 on July 6, Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman just announced. Nice to see the rightful #1 contender get his shot. Instead of someone talking their way into a title fight. Either way I hope he is ready.

RIP Weidman

b1adesofcha0s 03-06-2013 02:06 PM

I think Belfort is more of a rightful contender than Weidman. I really think those 2 should have fought to decide the #1 contender.

White doesn't want to see it. He says your arguement is irrelevant. I agree that he got caught and rematch is needed. If he gets dropped again early in the first round. Guess what don't give him another shot and you made money off him twice. The fans will buy it. Silva better not sleep on Weidman like he did Sonnen the first go around (hurt or not). Weidman wanted it so we will see how he fairs.

Yeah I know and I completely disagree with him on that.

+1 for RIP Weidman.

Overeem is out of his fight with JDS due to injury :(

b1adesofcha0s 03-07-2013 02:21 PM

Looks like it's a minor injury (small quad tear) so they're going to just delay the fight instead of switching it up or cancelling it.

yeah i saw that even though i want to see that fight the draw of that PPV was both heavyweight fights together. cain and bigfoot by itself is weaker. I would have almost rather have seen JDS and mark hunt and still have both big heavyweight fights on the card. but then again mark hunt he is cool he is like the ultimate journeyman but against JDS i think you would see an easy submission victory by Jr so probably not much of a fight

b1adesofcha0s 03-07-2013 02:40 PM

Yeah I think the best option was to delay the fight. We've been waiting too damn long for JDS vs Overeem.

MC 03-15-2013 02:38 AM

Wolf Tickets

speedfreek 03-15-2013 08:52 AM

MC you got your wish and JDS vs Hunt is on. Hunt better throw all he has in the first round and go for a finish quickly. His gas tank isn't the best and JDS is a tick better in that category. If he gases by the end of the first JDS will pick him apart. But maybe and just maybe if JDS gets sloppy Hunt will find a way to land one and KO him like he did Struve. I would really like Hunt get a title shot just so he can say he has fought for no matter the outcome.

My take on the fights this weekend.

GSP vs Diaz. Depending on how badly Diaz has really gotten inside GSP's head and sent him to his "dark place" or not will be the deciding factor in this fight. If he gets GSP out of his normal routine and stands and bangs with Diaz, GSP may find himself in trouble. But I don't really see that happening and he will take Diaz down and lay 'n' pray for five rounds with occasional ground 'n' pound. Diaz best bet is to wake up prior to the 5th round like he did with Condit and work for a submission early. GSP by decision. As much as I would like to see Diaz upset GSP I am fine with that. Cuz I want to see Big Rig KO him in the next one.

Hendricks vs Condit. This is an intriguing matchup. Will Condit run away from Hendricks the whole fight? Will Hendricks be able to cut off the ring if he does? Let's face it Condit did not fight in the Diaz battle. While it may have been a smart game plan for him it was less than entertaining. Very disappointed in that match and it took him down a peg or two in my book. Put that same performance on in the Bellator series and Diaz would of been given the decision the same way Doug Marshall was given it last week. But I digress and on to the task at hand. I believe Hendricks is quick enough to cut the cage off. Bad news for Condit. Big Rig by KO.

Ellenberger vs Marquardt. Only two ways I see this fight ending is if Ellenberger finds himself fading in the third round and standing. Marquardt will work his combos and get a TKO. But if he fights smart he will grind out a decision.

b1adesofcha0s 03-15-2013 08:57 AM

GSP will dominate Diaz standing up and on the ground. I think he'll eventually get the win by decision.

Hendricks will win by KO/TKO and hopefully earn a shot at GSP next (unless we see GSP vs Silva).

SPOHN 03-15-2013 11:13 AM

I hope GSP arm bars Diaz. Knowing Diaz he won't tap. So I hope he breaks it. I hate Diaz with a passion.

:iagree: Or GSP just KO's the fvck out of him. That would be awesome. He did say he wanted to retire Diaz with this fight, maybe we'll see more aggressive striking from GSP.

He plays his part. Without having someone so abrasive it would make it dull entertainment. Having two guys that hate each other step in the cage makes for an exciting fight....hopefully. Sadly his strength is also his downfall which is his outlook on life. Makes him a great competitor in that he is always trying to earn and prove himself. But he acts out and does things that cost him more in the long run. Just as he says he doesn't know what it's like to have sponsors. His attitude turns off the big players in the market place, but also his anxiety wouldn't allow him to ever be that guy.

SPOHN 03-15-2013 05:17 PM

Diaz accused GSP of steroids. What a crock. Make excuses for your loss that already took place.

Sibze 03-17-2013 01:00 AM

Meh to the main fight tonight. Happy GSP won don't get me wrong, just wish GSP'd fights were more entertaining.

The Hendricks Conduit fight was awesome.

XiP 03-17-2013 08:10 AM

really looking forward to gsp/hendricks now

SPOHN 03-17-2013 09:10 AM

It was funny how he called GSP out.

"If I have to hire a ref and come to your house to solve this".

Lol.

TheGreatOne 03-17-2013 09:15 AM

Very interested to see Hendricks vs GSP, I think he's one guy that can aggressively get in GSP's face, and he needs that...although not sure about his gas tank.

Condit/Hendricks was a great fight..Condit has quite a chin

bdavis89 03-17-2013 12:56 PM

Diaz shouldn't have even gotten the title shot. He lost his last fight, and now you give him a title shot? Same thing with Sonnen, who just lost to Silva, but now he gets another title shot automatically vs Jones? I think Dana has lost his mind..

I too wish GSP would finish his fights. Love how his corner was like "be reactive, not proactive, you're in the lead." I get it, its just like running out the clock in football, but its still not entertaining.

Hendricks/Condit definitely stole the show. I think Hendricks could give GSP a good fight. He's got more power, although not as polished on the ground. Looking forward to it!

b1adesofcha0s 03-17-2013 07:00 PM

I think Hendricks vs Condit could be a fight of the year candidate. Definitely looking forward to GSP vs Hendricks, I think it will be a good fight.

SPOHN 03-17-2013 09:04 PM

Hendricks would defiantly put pressure on GSP. And knowing he has extreme KO power is scary. If I was GSP I'd do two more fight and get out of the sport.

b1adesofcha0s 03-17-2013 09:32 PM

Very good chance GSP gets caught with a big punch from Hendricks, so he'll probably try to take him down ASAP. Hendricks wrestling skills make it a very interesting fight.

Luciano13 03-19-2013 06:23 PM

I say Hendricks in the 2nd rd KO'S GSP in the face!! Irate how GSP doesn't finish fights any more. Its time for a new champ!!:icon14:

b1adesofcha0s 03-19-2013 06:39 PM

Looked it up the other day, GSP hasn't had a legit finish in 5 whole years!

GSP/Silva would fix that :stirthepot:

Extreme knockout power didn't stop condit. Condit did great but his takedown defense wasn't all that
