The whole East is within 3 games. Thats very close.

Lemers 06-02-2012 04:03 PM

Congrats to Johan of the Mets getting the franchise's first No Hitter. If I was to guess before I would had said Nolan Ryan.

What's amazing about the Sox is that with all the injuries, the subs are stepping up. Big time. Now that's a quality of a winner: great depth.

And that reflects good scouting, minor league system, and a savvy gm

Don't give the GM any cred. The current one just walked in and picked up where Theo left off.

We'll see what this GM can do next off season.

Well The Yankees loss Mariano for the whole season, and has about 3 or 4 regular players in the disable list, plus 1 or 2 others they lost for the whole year before the season even started.

So scrapping here and there they have manage to stay alive in the AL East for now.
I don't think the O's or Blue Jays are going to do anything but have to watch Tampa Bay.

The orioles' slide is partially due to injury. Sad to say, if the Orioles are to pick up steam again, it's going to depend largely on Britton and Roberts hitting peak form and getting back into the rotation/lineup soon.

I wish the O's had the depth of the Yanks or Sox, but we have to try and catch lightning in a bottle.

Don't get me wrong, they are playing pretty good.

Tradition and history help some ... but they have a huge payroll as well.

Three series swept by NYY to the NL teams.

Aizen Sosuke 06-20-2012 09:19 AM

Anybody thinks the Mets are for real and can compete in the NL east? I can't believe what R.A. Dickey is doing start after start at freaking 37yo. Cy young level at that age is unheard of. Johan looks human in comparison

The Mets have a good team and manager this year. It could be their year at least in the NL...

PapoZalsa 07-04-2012 01:30 PM

Not again, damn TB and Boston are crepping on the NYY.

Lemers 07-04-2012 07:04 PM

Did you really think the east would be that easy.

I get the feeling most of the people in this thread don't see the Orioles as World Series champs.

:roflpuke2::roflpuke2::roflpuke2:

Lemers 07-05-2012 06:49 AM

No, no they don't.

Aizen Sosuke 07-06-2012 11:16 AM

The oriols and nationals are definetly real. I expect them both to get in the postseason. As far as winning in the playoffs, that's really random and depends on who is hot at the time.

shadoquad 07-06-2012 11:39 AM

The Orioles need a whole lot to go right for them to end up in the postseason. They're getting some folks back from injury soon, but they really need to address the pitching rotation.

Still, I'm happy they're gonna probably be over .500 at the All Star Break.

Lemers 07-06-2012 01:20 PM

I really sux arriving in Kansas City in time for the MLB All Star Game and not having tickets.

No I know just making small talk. However AL East is one of the most competitive Divisions, and now with the O's...

Orioles are going to find magic in their cleats and end up in the world series :bowrofl:

Lemers 07-15-2012 02:56 PM

Ellsbury is back in the MLB!

PapoZalsa 07-23-2012 07:58 PM

Ichiro to the Yankees, we need it an outfielder of his caliber with Swisher a free agent and our leftfielder out for the season.

Hopefully Ichiro will help close the loop even that I still think we need some pitchers and bats for men in scoring position.

And kick the O's in the a$$, they are like a bad girlfriend that won't go away! :stirthepot:

You know though. I wanted them to trade Youk and Beckett. Mainly I liked youk but he's always injured. And Beckett cause of his downward performance and shanigans from last year and this year. Gonzalez never lived up to exspectations but that was a surprise and Crawford never got a chance to prove himself. But hey I think by the trade deadline the only people that didn't think the Sox were out of the running were the owners. Well I'm glad they did what they did. Start building for next year free up that logjam in the minors and give Valintine a chance to manage his own team. Not the team that wont play for anyone but Terry Frank.

I totally agree with your statement and I think that that was the result of the players meeting with the owner complaining about the current manager too.

Plus the team had a bunch of injuries this year; and Beckett and Lester didn't help the team too much.

Who would've thought?

Now my season is over and Im looking to next year. I hope the red sox use the saving from their salary from dumping Crawford, Beckett, and Gonzalez toward getting some fresh talent in the off season and the sox have a good farm also so bring some top prospects up and have a good season.
