You reallyt have USA being #1 in group over England?

Explain how you chose:

Argentina over Germany
Netherlands over Brazil....This is tough for me and I understand why you may have went this way. If Brazil doesnt choose to call up Ronaldo and Ronaldinho I see them having issues....however....Netherlands have issues right now as well.

Also Netherlands > Spain.

Disclaimer- not saying you're wrong...just curious about your picks

I didnt know how to seed right I guess, England will top the group, USA finishing second. Holland won their group in qualifying with 8 wins, 0 losses. Also handily whooping Italy's arse in the euro 3-0, and france 4-1, they're a pretty solid group. Judging from their play against the US, Brazil's defense is lacking, going forward, they are creative, but Holland has too many talented attackers for them to handle. Take your pick, RvP, Robben, Kuyt, Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Van bommel, Nisty, any of which can score. I'm going out on a limb and saying that Holland will win the cup. As much as I love my fatherland, you seen how the little menace Messi picked apart Arsenal in the CL, he will do the same to the slower germans, while loaded with talent, they lack speed which Argentina is full of.

im gonna go revise my bracket and see if i cant figure it out

The first team you pick in the group....is the #1 seed in the grop....the 2nd you pick is the last to advance.

I'll address the rest of this in a few min

Red370 04-15-2010 11:39 PM

I figured it out, new bracket submitted.

blue660r01 04-15-2010 11:39 PM

And no Messi will not pick apart the Germans.... Messi is a DISGRACE at international level. He's terrible .....Germany is one of the toughest teams to beat.

Messi isnt the only threat, Higuain is amazing and having one hell of a season for Real, Tevez has been a revelation for Man City, the veteran Cambiasso will get a call up and Masch is a solid defensive midfielder with great attack when he goes forward. I'm predicting a 2-1 win for Argentina.

Really really think you are underestimating Germany. I like Argetina a lot....I play with them a lot in FIFA also. I just do NOT see them advancing over Germany. Germany actually is advancing from how they played in 2006.

I like that you chose Italy to lose though :)

England is due for a final though IMO dude...Just a gut feeling.

I dont think im underestimating Germany, im from Germany:icon17: I'm just being a realist, Klose is solid, great in the air, but lacks the speed needed I think. I think Podolski will have a good WC. Gomez has strokes of brilliance, but in very short stretches, he lacks consistency. I dunno, i just think the German attacking options are slim.

Italy was absolutely pathetic in the last few friendlies they've played, and played like crap in the qualifying stage, definitely not the team they were in 06'. I think Spain is going to make a good run for the title, their bench is so deep its ridiculous. England is due, but they always seem to choke on the world stage, god knows they have the talent to win it all, I'd actually be stoked if they did, but I just think tradition will haunt them here.
