DAMN!! Gomes (keeper) is on fiiiiiire!

phelan 04-14-2010 03:47 PM

bendtner!!!!!!!!!

c'mon you gunners!!

robin van persie is my hero.

right after cesc, that is

Red370 04-14-2010 03:50 PM

title hopes are gone, but one good thing us gunner fans can take from the game is the resurgence of RvP, every single time he touched the ball it was dangerous, and the announcer is right, had RvP been healthy all season, the top of the table would look completely different.

Red370 04-14-2010 03:56 PM

how disappointing is that man, i'll give it to em', if it wasnt for Gomez's brilliance, the game would easily have finished 5-2

Red370 04-14-2010 03:58 PM

this game also showed me that Almunia spends more time out of position than in, we need a world class keeper and Fabianski and Mannone arent the ones.

i still want one more striker, as bendtner is spotty at best. i guess we've signed marouane chamakh though, four year deal apparently. well...okay, but i'm still kind of mixed on that one.

but for now, transfer window should be filled with thoughts of central defenders and goalkeepers. i read somewhere we're rumored to be pursuing martin caceres, but the last thing we need is an injury prone defender.

arsene wenger has the money, now is the time to spend...

god gomes was amazing during the last part of the game, batting aside flurries left and right. props to the spurs goalkeep this game, but still...

f*ck tottenham.

Red370 04-14-2010 04:16 PM

Well whats great about the Chamakh deal is that we got him for free being that his contract with Bordeaux ran out, so we're not at a loss there, still got plenty of money freed up. Central defense is a must, we need Mertesacker lol, for as tall as he is (6'6) hes still reasonably quick. I think we also need another defensive midfielder, Song and Diaby have both proven to be injury prone, I think Melo would be an excellent fit.

Arsenal left to start the post mortem after Tottenham defeat - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

for once i like what kevin palmer is saying

Red370 04-14-2010 06:28 PM

"As the post mortem on a fifth successive trophyless season begins in earnest for Arsenal". Like a dagger in the heart :(

phelan 04-14-2010 07:09 PM

rvp, stay healthy, dammit ><'

at least barca has come out and said they're not going to pursue fabregas this year. really odd though, considering it's an election year, so wtf?

Trend seems to be that RvP always starts strong, picks up a minor injury, out for a month or two, comes back, contributes a boatload of goals, then re injures himself and doesnt finish the season, god I hope next year is different. I have a feeling that if we go trophyless again, AW will no longer be a part of the gunners future, unfortunate but likely.

blue660r01 04-14-2010 09:33 PM

You shoulda taken my bet :D
