yah, lots of small local shops have these sites where they just copy paste all the brand names they carry...
but no real details about wat kind of pricing you offer, etc. wat/how are you different from everyone else?

if you're planning on doing internet sales, then i suggest you hire more people to make
the site to have individual parts listed for individual cars, etc, and keep maintaining it everyday
for sales events, blogs, tips, etc.

if you're planning on doing more local installs and sales, then probably post up
coupons to bring in, freebies, etc.

Just using our site now as a reference to show what brands we offer and what we do. Our store site is in the works.

Great you have a website and I am all for people selling stuff and making money but... To play the devils advocate.

"Why would I want to go here?" I guess is the question. The site does nothing. Has a few videos. The videos are just slammed at the bottom of the site If I want to contact you via the phone or find your address I suppose would be the only good reason.

Does Jeff know you are using his pics?

Not sure why you all are getting upset that we released a site you can reference too while our store is being built. If you need to make a purchase PM us on here like every other person does with every other vendor as websites only post map pricing anyhow. And not sure if he knows but those are my sponsors photos.

Thanks for the feedback but no need to come at us like that. We're not some huge shop that charge a arm and a leg for parts were a small private company trying to help out the fellow z owners save money. Thanks.

Well I did do business with them.

Understandable. Text can read many different ways. I don't have his permission so I apologize I will remove then if he wants me too as these were sent to me from my sponsor to use. So if he issued them to my sponsor for use then wouldn't be ok for me to use? Not being a smarty I'm really not too familiar with this. Appreciate the help and looking out!

I think what KC means is that a page with a bunch or logos does not add value to your site. It's overdone, we aren't harping just telling our honest take on it. Keep working on it pal you'll get there. :)

We understand now. Thanks. Just wanted to out something up too show that we offer not just the 5 brands were advertising on here. Don't wanna flood you with a whole bunch a threads but looks like that's what well have to do. Lol. Once the sore is up it will be much more helpful. If I have any wordpress pros out here that would like to help for part discounts pm me haha.

No If I give company X permission to use my work it does not mean company Y and Z have permissions by default just because they do business with X. I am sure if you asked he would probably say it is O.K. but a half hidden watermark is "suspect". i.e. if my work is shown I want my watermark shown unless you have paid for the full rights to it. Photographers have to eat too :tup:

No reason to run into copyright issues if you are just starting out is all I am saying.

No not really... more of a Rapidweaver or Dreamweaver guy. But honestly when things got complicated I paid someone to rough out the site. Then, once I had all the web templates, it was easy to jam in my content and have it look all uniform and functional.

As the maintainers of this site will surely attest once you start getting hits you start getting spammers and hackers trying to hijack you stuff to use for their own purposes. If you are "winging it" you may inadvertently open up holes within your site or store. I would at least consult with a pro (or at least someone very knowledgeable) before bringing a store online.

Just stumbled across this thread. I actually am part of a digital agency so I can give you my perspective from a conversion standpoint.

What @Debiandog said makes sense - as to what is the purpose of the website. Currently it looks like just a landing page or a small microsite - but what real action do you want someone to take once they get there. Do you want them to pick up the phone and call you? Fill our the order form? These are called "goals" in Internet Marketing lingo.

So the first thing I would do is install Google Analytics on the website. It is free to do - and basically it will tell you who came to your website, how they found you, how long did they stay, where did they go, where did they leave etc.

I would suspect now it wouldn't tell you much because the site itself is not designed in a way to drive traffic and is probably not getting much traffic - but like I said regardless of how little traffic you may or may not be receiving - it is FREE to put on your website and it can tell you a lot about what people do on your website.

From an SEO perspective - which basically means the likelihood of people finding your website naturally in the search engines is not going to happen. So if someone were to go to Google and search for things like:

Aftermarket Car Parts Orlando
Car Parts Orlando
etc.

There is a free tool called Google Keyword Planner in which you can plug these type of keywords in and Google will actually TELL you how many people are searching for these phrases per month. This will give you an idea of what people are searching for and how, and then it is important to properly optimize your website so that when people search for example in Google, your website appears on page 1. Ideally you want to be on the top 5 results or in the MAP results.

I mean your website doesn't even come up if people search for your company name.
Go into Google and search for nugen automotive

I mean you will notice your FB page, you will even notice this forum, but your website should actually be ranking #1 in Google for its own branded name.

The most BASIC thing you can do is define your Title and Description Tags on your pages. You can do this in the backend of your Wordpress website - and basically this is the first snippet that people will see when they look at a result in Google. To give you an idea of what Google will show in the even that your website ever does come up in Google, here is how your site and pages will get displayed.

You will note only 3 pages come up - well that is because that is all your website currently has, but you will notice that the Title and Description Google is using for your pages doesn't actually best describe the page or what your company does.

You mention your eStore is in the process of being built. Are you guys using an agency to do the work or doing it yourselves? eCommerce can get very complicated - and I mean there are platforms that can help you, most people on Wordpress use WooCommerce or some even use Shopify. This way you dont have to worry about being PCI Compliant and getting sercurity certificates and all that other jazz.

LOL hopefully I am not speaking a whole different language to you.

I mean really you have to look at your website as an investment, and most people will search your company and do their homework before ultimately making the decision if they will do business with you. I mean there are some exceptions but this is generally the case. So you want to make sure your website actually reflects your brand and quality of work. I would honestly advise you work with an agency to get this done.

I mean the cost of a website can range - but honestly what you pay for is what you get.

You can get a free website using GoDaddy or a free Wordpress theme and try to build it out yourself, or you can pay $500, $5000, $50k etc.

Obviously it depends on your budget, your needs, what functionality you need versus want etc.

If you are shopping around - you are probably looking at a cost around the $2500 mark for a descent looking website. IF you wish to add eCommerce, the cost would then depend on how many products etc you have as that can make costs fluctuate.

I mean we have built all sorts of websites , from small to large.

We just recently launched this one - Best BBQ Grill, Best Barbeques, Built In Gas BBQ Grills and it still needs work but like I said, its not just about having a good looking website, or the best product at the best price ... if no one knows you exist online, your offer doesnt mean much. This is why doing internet marketing such as PPC, SEO, Social Media, Display Ads etc are so important.

Anyways I did a webinar talking to businesses about how they can leverage the web to drive traffic and in foot store traffic etc - its a bit long but I mean if you are interested in learning more about this stuff I would advise you watch below. And even if you dont plan on doing this yourself, the more knowledgeable you are, the better off you will be hiring someone to do the work for you correctly.

Congrats on the website and hope the best for the business :tup:..Being a fellow Orlandonian (made up word? Maybe.) its always good to see a local company that carries parts mainly for Z's. Lord only knows you can count the amount of places that cater to us on one hand here in Orlando. The website will take time, like someone once said "Rome wasnt built in a day". From a Consumer/Sales person POV one thing I would add is when you do place products up and have to put product description please make it an actual detailed description. I've been on so many website where Im trying to find specs as far as weight, dimensions, material, etc. and the only thing you find is the generic copied description from Stillen or Ark or whoevers website. I feel being as descriptive as possible always helps sell the best product for ones needs and lowers the chance of returns greatly. Thats my measly :twocents: though lol. I hope the best for your company and I might have to check you guys out if you have a store front around town.

Thanks for the kinds words we appreciate that. Well keep that in mind about the descriptions. I would love to have as much info as possible it also takes a long time to add products to the site.

I don't really go on websites to much to buy products, just to get info on them( Stats, HP gain, cost, etc). I'm more of a referral guy, I think DE review on you guys was great. Recommendations like that can spread the word better.

I think it's great you guys made a website but you should also try to get more into the social media side like Facebook and Instagram. Get into those groups on Facebook and advertise your products and you'll get more attention on there than on this forum. I can help you out if you'd like, just say the word. Instagram is getting really big aswell, twitter is cool too.
