However, if you have intakes on your car and then your steering lock mechanism freezes up, there is no way for those parts to be related, so they have to warranty it. It's the law. If you are looking for parts, shoot me a message, I have a shop over in Baton Rouge and try to help Z guys out as much as I can. Looking forward to meeting you guys, hopefully we can have another get together shortly after the dyno day! PS, new parts come in tomorrow and I've got a photographer coming in from Dallas on Friday to shoot my car! |
I hope we can do another shoot when my wheels and the rest of my body parts come in.

I'm surprised I haven't seen you around. I also live in Metairie. Welcome |
What a beautiful day to take the NISMO from under her blanket. Metairie and the Westbank here we come!:happydance:
|
Ok, at about 1000 hours this morning the girlfriend and I jumped on I-10 westbound in Metairie. Next thing we know we are coming up to a black 370 in the middle lane. So my girlfriend being the outgoing person she is, started waving. All of a sudden two car lengths further up in the far right lane we came up to a 370z NISMO the same color as mine(Gun Metallic). The girlfriend waved again and got the driver's attention. He waved back and then noticed we were in a NISMO too. He then gave us his nod of approval.

Cool deal, i wonder if they are on the forum?

dig the paint job
|
Ok, here we go... I found a ding on my driver's side ground effect. it is about 2 inches in length and is pretty deep. I found a place that can seel me the panel for around $315.00 shipped. Does anyone know of a place around here that can match the gun metallic paint and how much it would possibly cost?
Thanks in advance, |
Yeah good paint places are hard to find, i'll be needing one in a few months.

That sucks for sure, hold on to your old side when you get the new one installed. If i can find another one for cheap i'll get that one from you. |

Yes sir, that's why i would need to find the passenger side so i'd have the pair. |

I found the sill for $315.00 shipped and the local dealer where I bought the car from gave a rough quote of $200.00 for the paint job. Any thoughts? |
It shouldn't cost more than $150-200 to paint that side skirt if you go through a place like that. Make sure they analyze the color of your car because it's hard to match. The guy that does my paint work painted my bumper twice before the color would match. Mainly because there are SO many different variations of the K23 paint code.
Besides, silvers and metallics are always the HARDEST colors to match. |
Thanks for the advice.

Ok, I did my good deed for the day. I had a black NISMO driving in front of me today after work, so I decided to pull along side of him and flag him down. I got him to roll down his window and then I asked him to pull over. He was reluctant to do so, but he did anyway. I saw the look on his face... The "Why did this guy flag me down" face. I asked him if the ride was rough, to which he replied yes. I told him about the shipping spacers, their purpose, and that the dealer should have taken them off. He had no idea about them. I asked him to turn his wheels and behold he had three spacers on each side. It was a 2010 BTW. I showed him the spacers so he could explain to the dealership what needed to be removed and so that he could check for himself after they "claim" to remove them. I also told him about this great forum and that he should check it out.
Problem solved... Problem staying solved... One NISMO at a time. I just need to catch the other GM NISMO running around Metairie. :happydance: |

Cherahola Skyway/The Dragon/Devil's Triangle
Yesterday was a day that the 370Z proved its metal (literally) on the Twisty demanding roadways of the Dragon and the Devils Triangle in Tennessee. Despite the infamy of the Dragon run (aka Tail of the Dragon), and believe me it was challenging, the Devil's Triangle was by far a course NOT for the fainthearted, squeamish, or lacking in driving ability/skill/experience. I have to acknowledge and thank Mike C (who is making these runs with me) for convincing me to upgrade my sway bars prior to the trip - this proved extremely well advised. The Z handled the most challenging curves of both the Dragon and The Devil's Triangle with FLAWLESS SUPERIORITY. I am not exaggerating. Wherever I pointed her noise, she obeyed and conquered the curve - one after the other individually, successive S-Curves and chicanes, hairpin 180's, climbing/hairpin 180's (one would not believe...!), and a miriad of combinations that boggle the mind. Forget tracking your car, this is more challenging than the most challenging track I can assure you. If you want to test your metal, and that of the 370Z (...and she won't fail you), this is where you need to do it. My Baby earned her Dragon's wings yesterday, and she wears he Dragon emblem on her rear window with Pride! All I can say is: Thank you Nissan for a SUPERB Sports car that is Uncompromising in its performance, looks, ride comfort, technical superiority, all at an unmatched cost of ownership... "Shift_Excitement" has a whole new meaning today after putting her through her paces on those grueling roads yesterday, :driving:
Pictures and videos to follow in a week or so :pics:, after we are back home from ZATTACK, which commences today with Nissan Plant Tours, Lane Museum Tour and BBQ Dinner... |

Award Winner Z In our Group
For all who care to know - :hello:
We just returned home and brought back with us a trophy - Mike C's (aka ZYCOPTH, recently registered on the Forum) 40th Anniversary 370Z won 6th Generation 2nd Place Modified at the ZATTACK Nashville Event. There were a lot of modified 370's at the event, some outrageously so, but ZYCOPATH's 40th Anniversary still managed to take 2nd place, a testament to Mike's hard work for sure! Please join me in congratulating him on the hard earned and well deserved win. Congrats Mike!! :tiphat:  :driving::happydance::woot::rock::vuvuzela2: |
Much appreciation...
much appreciation Paul! i really want to take the oppurtunity to publicly thank you and Harold (BucketMan) for helping me get my car to where it is now. From the intakes to the exhaust.the trip was a true kick in the ***. we need to keep our eyes open for some close by club events and look into organizing something like coffee and cars. maybe we can float the location around to help accomodate those from around the area.

Sounds good. I'll be headed to Branson z fest last weekend of May. Anybody want to go on a run to north Arkansas/Southern MO? They have some cool roads and a bunch of good folks. We also need to firm up the Leblanc Show date.
