Type, you've had two different sets of springs and oem springs, now coils. I would like to know which ones gave you the smoothest ride?

Sorry dude... just got back from IA in Nashville. Well, looks like I'll be buying ANOTHER front lip... this is the 2nd Stillen one that got ripped off. It's a good thing those damn things are cheap, otherwise I would be really, really pissed.
To answer your question though, I think OEM springs give the smoothest ride of course. My coils being a little more harsh than the TEINs, but not much. My car is just too low.. and it scrapes on everything. I'll post a pic soon, I had to get another iPhone because I got to wasted and lost my other one. :-( BTW Brad, do you still have my GoPro? |
Damn, that's all bad news...Did you atleast have a good time there?
|
Oh yeah... good time... but I just have to buy another lip. I don't think I'm going to go with a Stillen... it just hangs too low.

Thanks!
I've got S3 Magazine wanting to do a full feature! Maybe in the fall, it will be ready for the shoot though... I think I'm going to repaint my wheels. :-) |
Hey guys,
I just swapped the OEM Tires (Bridgstone Potenzas) on my Z. They have 3700 miles on them and have never been tracked or raced. Lots of "meat" and undamaged beyond the slight wear that I put on them during the 3700 miles of driving. The reason for the swap is because I punctured one of the rear tires and it is not repairable - the price to replace from Tire Rack and/or Discount Tire was approx $400 for that one tire, whereas I could buy four Hankooks for $800. So I opted to change them all out. Now I have two fronts (245/40) and one rear (275/35) available first come/first serve. I am asking $200 for all three tires (plus shipping costs). If you are interested, please let me know and we can proceed from there. |
In other news... I'm about to buy a little daily EG Civic hatchback. I'm excited!
+1 for not putting miles on the Z! |

wheels are on the list, with some 295/305 rear tires. |
305's is what i'm running in the rear. Is that the GTM SC kit? That's what i'd love to do.

I like the sport and Andromeda, not that i'd ever give up my heated white leather seats. |
Meh... I'm partial to Recaros personally. The Brides are nice, but it seems like you have to pay for the JDM goodness. If in fact they are actually real..
There are so many fakes out there it's hard to believe that someone would pay $3000+ for a set of REAL Brides. |
I wanted something a little different. I have had recaros in every vehicle I've owned.
The ones I purchased are actually lightly used (off showroom). |
Which Recaros? OEMs?
I think a Recaro SPG or something of the sort is going to be a little different than an OEM Honda or DSM seat. Still nice quality though... I have always found the Bride seats to be tight and kinda uncomfortable for a DD. Maybe it's just me. I can tell you that Status seats are the most expensive and uncomfortable seats I've ever used. $1500 per seat is a joke. |
Quote:
To my knowledge status only makes a "bucket". non reclinables. |
Oh yeah... Status doesn't make any reclineable seats. Their buckets are stupid tight.
In other news guys, project single side exhaust is underway! It's going to be loud as hell, but something I've wanted to do. I'm going 3" 304 stainless tubing through a 12" muffler (under the car) then up to the left side out through a 3" race muffler. :-P |

Need opinions on the 4.08 gearing.
I am going to be installing a quiafe lsd very soon, and was thinking about maybe putting a 4.08 gear in. What are you guys opinions on this? |
It's very cool, but i think it throws the syncro, speedO, and gas mileage off. Then again so does my 20" wheels and they don't make my Z any faster. Quite a few guys have done it, maybe give them a pm and see what they say.
