Can we have a 370Z meet in Torrance area???
 

Hey guys, I am new to the SoCal meets, but I am wondering if a few local people would like to have a meet more frequently than once a month and crashing the RX7 meet and the Japanese nostalgic meet...
I'm used to having a meet every Thursday at a restaurant usually decided by a poll or vote.

I'm in the Torrance area, so maybe this is local between the guys in the beach cities, PV, Long Beach and San Pedro... We would jump around a bit location wise so it is convenient for all of us at one time or another.

Will do! The other advantage I see is that if you see another Z member that may or may not be on the forum, you can say you have weekly meets, not, oh we meet on the last Friday of every month, and the person has to wait around and forgets

Weekly is too hard and everyone is too spreadout from Torrance to get any real attendance.

That is why I made our meet once a month and in a more central location

Yep. Weekly was great when I was in college and free time, it's too much for me now that I'm part of the working class...and I ain't no hipster millionaire. :tiphat:

(Not bashing with this comment, I promise, but) I don't expect you to come out from Garden Grove, that's really far, but I am sure there are enough people within 10-15 miles who are willing to come out for a meet... Or at least I hope so... Our Dallas meets were from 8PM to whenever on Thursday night, if that's not convenient, which it isn't for me, I was thinking Wednesday

Half way through your crappy week, you can meet up, check out a few people's rides, eat, drink, talk, whatever

I don't know if my argument will make sense, but let's give it a go...
It's AWESOME that like 40 Z's show up to that meet, but I have been to one meet and I missed 2, and I don't know a damn person besides Wais.
I'd rather have 25 people come out every week, and the people who can make it will come, anyone who can't knows, it's ok, there's another meet next week! I'm sure there will be a group of people who will be there religiously...


Now for a Torrance/Long Beach/Beach Cities/Pedro meet I don't think there will be 25 people, but hopefully 10-15?

I tried to make something in Torrance a few years ago but no one was really into it. Hopefully this time it's different.

yeah going down to OC is too far for me too.....I'm not really into meets unless we go cruising.....

Where are you located in LA? Would you come to the Torrance area?

I'd love to cruise, but I guess what ends up happening is people try to show boat, even at the Japanese Nostalgic car meets where it says 50 times not to burn out and such, i saw at LEAST 2 people do it...


First let's figure out a weekly meet, and then start on a cruise?

just combine it with the L&L rx7 one that happens every other friday in gardena. there are Z guys that show up to it anyway.

Yeahhhh, but honestly, that's their meet (and I have 2 buddies who own RX7's)...
Last week their meet got rolled too...

last week was an exception because it was the 2 yr anniversary of the meet and it had a big turnout. ppl in the plaza got mad that patrons to vons, etc. couldn't find parking.

+1 I have been attending that meet for a year and a half and normally we can get a good 6-7 Z's to show.

The RX-7 guys are a great group and always welcome us, the police situation was an isolated incident and we don't see it happening again.

I will be at that meet tomorrow night with 4-5 Z's probably in attendance

Considering the Cerritos meet will be next saturday October 6th...that's a negative from me.

Lol! Sounds good to me, not a lot of members are showing interest though... And I think there are a LOT of local members who don't know there is a SoCal meet in the first place... (I don't think they come to the SoCal page)

yea either that or they only go to the cerritos monthly meet!

ive been wanting to come to a meet. Check out other z's. I'm in the riverside area and all I see is civics and 240's lol

It was nice seeing everyone at the meet last night, and I realize how much I miss weekly meets.
Again, I am suggesting the Torrance area because it's kind of local, and the actual meet location will move around a bit so we can go to different restaurants and such

I'd attend if there was a cruise afterwards. It's a drive from wrightwood to torrance, but a cruise makes it worth it.

I'd love a cruise, but I believe MOST meets with cruises and up canceling the cruise because a few jackasses want to gun it at every light and try to burn out and what not... Honestly, 10 370Z's caravanning would be awesome, but you're going to attract a lot of police attention, so as long as no one does anything stupid, then sure... but it will be hard to have everyone follow the rules:ughdance:

I think we have a different outlook on what a cruise entails. Canyon cruises are what I'm talking about. :tup: Public street cruises are no fun. i.e. red lights :thumbsdown: and usually have a few of torettos friends.
