Big thanks to a local headlight modifier!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to George and his friends, aka paperboy42190 . He did an excellent job on modifying my headlights and they turned out even better than I expected. I had the headlights sprayed in a satin black and also swapped to the sti-r clear lenses (which make an unbelievable difference as far as the output and projection). He did the headlights on the spot (removing the front bumper too) It took them about 4 1/2 hours for the complete job and their price was very reasonable. Just wanted to say if anyone is looking to get their headlights done locally, pm paperboy42190 !

Great post, seriously going to look into this next month, how much did the sti clears go for?

370zmarc 03-15-2012 08:02 PM

They were $50
(3") STi-R - Clear Lenses from The Retrofit Source Inc

370ZilverZ 03-15-2012 08:16 PM

Looking good.

Juruki 03-16-2012 02:22 PM

George does good work for sure! i got mine done 6 months ago and they look amazing

engmontano11 03-21-2012 11:21 PM

looking good dude, how much was it for everything?

370Z JT 03-24-2012 10:05 PM

The StiR lens swap is a must if you're opening up the housing.

Thumbs up for George!

I'm looking into having this done soon, but I have a question on the sti-r lenses.

http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...-services.html

According to that thread, you need a spacer for proper cutoff, but it seems some people just install it directly so...is a spacer needed or no?

370zmarc 04-06-2012 02:04 AM

Spacer is not necessarily needed but definitely recommended. George made the spacer himself to get the proper cutoff

scionide 04-06-2012 02:13 AM

Ok cool, thanks :)

Got mine done by George also (paint/STI-R swap). Good work overall! He had a tough job b/c my HLs were previously painted when I had the LEDs/demon eye installed by MR Works. So he had to sand them down before repainting which took longer than expected.

Only item I would caution (being nit picky here) is to make sure there are no finger prints left on the inside of the HL before re-sealing. I have a few minor ones I can notice, but nothing worth having them re-opened for. Overall good work at a great price!

George, do you recommend swapping to diff LEDs? The same ones keep on flickering.

vrfreak 08-09-2012 06:26 AM

brucelidat 08-11-2012 01:16 AM

Amuse370 08-11-2012 08:27 AM

He is located in alhambra

brucelidat 08-11-2012 11:02 AM

wow, super close to me. i might have to look into this. anyone know if there's anyone out there who's done GMish headlights? I am wondering how that would look. My car is GM as well.

brucelidat 08-11-2012 11:27 AM

370zmarc, do you have an overall picture of your car instead of just a close up so I can see how that black is looking with your GM Z overall?

Taylor31 09-19-2012 04:00 PM

Just got my headlights done by George last weekend (shrouds and inside painted gloss blk, iron-man LEDs, STi-r clear lense swap). He did a great job and it didnt take to long. Had my car back a few hours later. Nice guy, great work and great price! I recommend getting your headlights done by him. His screen name is (gyy), previously known as (paperboy42190)

I need to take some close up shots... my car is at the shop right now so I'll take some more tomorrow night. BTW George I have your number to two guys at the Z Show so they may be calling/texting you wanting their headlights painted.
