To make things worse, my gf ordered me the EVO-R Carbon Fiber side mirror covers for christmas. If anyone is interested, i have to let them go. Its still in the box, comes with 3M double sided tape.

BennytheBlade 01-02-2011 09:24 PM

Painful to look at. But your ok?

VaGntlmn 01-02-2011 09:24 PM

man that sucks.
Hope that does mean that you and your gf are okay.

Trips 01-02-2011 09:29 PM

Jesus Christ Man, I can't believe this happened, By the sounds of it you're OK? And thats the main thing, Has the insurance looked at it, and whats going to happen? Total or is it going to be repaired? It doesn't look to clear on any frame damage from the pic? What a way to bring in the new year? :(

Yeah, I'm okay, the airbags kept me from banging into anything.
But, my girlfriend dislocated her elbow, so she was rushed to the ER. She handled it quite well though, surprisingly.

After i hydroplaned, i hit the guardrail a few times in a spin. After the car stopped moving, 1 minute later, a FJ Cruiser slams into us. Causing a few more spins, and my driver side front wheel to break into 10+ pieces. The towing company and CHP couldn't find that wheel anywhere because it was demolished.

I was a bit traumatized, i couldnt drive in the rain or sit inside a car that was in the rain...

m4a1mustang 01-02-2011 09:36 PM

Yikes dude. So sorry to hear (and see) but it looks like everyone involved was OK? I'm assuming the car is a total loss. Definitely looks like it.

I've been calling the insurance guys everyday, they still havent declared if it is a total loss. The guys who towed my car said that it was a total loss. There was frame damage where that chunk was missing, only after the FJ hit me though.

I have full coverage, so hopefully they'd compensate enough for me to pay off the car.

Sad to say, but i might be going Subie WRX after.

Jeffblue 01-02-2011 09:38 PM

sorry to hear, glad you are ok

Yeah man, any time you have any significant frame damage the car is done. I can tell from that picture that the car was done, so I wouldn't sweat it about your insurance company trying to fix the car.

BennytheBlade 01-02-2011 09:48 PM

Well, as long as your ok and show us what you pick out, thats all that matter 8)

ncheung85 01-02-2011 09:52 PM

Damn that sucks. The way you describe the accident...it could have gone really bad.

Glad everyone is ok.

daisuke149 01-02-2011 09:54 PM

yikes. glad your okay man. Thats a scary thing to go through.

2004YZFR1 01-02-2011 10:14 PM

Glad that you and your girl are ok! You should check into buying the car back from the insurance company and parting it out. You could get some good extra coin to go toward your next ride. Good luck!

ChrisSlicks 01-02-2011 10:15 PM

Damn. I think the car held together pretty well structurally considering, definitely totaled though. Glad your ok.

christian370z 01-02-2011 10:52 PM

Yikes, that is an incredible picture. All that matters is that you emerged with all your bits and pieces, this rain we have been having lately has made driving pretty treacherous. That is definitely a total loss though, at least you and your GF are ok.

saber 01-02-2011 11:33 PM

this rain is making the roads murder to drive on!

CrownR426 01-02-2011 11:36 PM

Just by looking at this picture I know it's a total loss!
I really hope you had GAP insurance so you can get your Z back!
Try not to drive in the rain!!!
Glad to hear you and your gf are alive and well!
Please keep us posted and God bless.

Damn, At least your car is intact, were you hurt?

gttsome 01-03-2011 07:35 PM

So how are you guys doing?

Nice dodge, ya-know, the hurting always sets in a bit after the event, it's an inbred survival thing, so really how are you doing?

I hope the bullets missed your X spots, and so now you must grow some eyes in the back of your head. "Fun-Fun-Fun".

Take care, and all the best for you and yours.

i'm try to decipher this, can't do it yet?

and wow the rain has really done the Zs in in SoCal, haven't they? we never get this kind of rain volume, it's wreaking havoc on the roads. be careful out there...hell, i was driving home yesterday and watched plenty of people weave in and out of lanes because they couldn't tell where the lanes were!

370zproject 01-03-2011 10:49 PM

Waiz 01-03-2011 11:07 PM

Juruki 01-04-2011 10:53 AM

Sorry to see these pics :(

The important thing is that you are OK and live to drive another day.

mrsleepy1225 01-06-2011 02:35 AM

So... since my Z is gone, I'm planning on moving to the AWD...

GT-R is outta my price range, so I'm thinking between the EVO and
the STI..

Check them out thoroughly. I'm not sure if you will be 100% satisfied with the build quality on both machines coming from the Z.
