Exactly 2 weeks ago... got about 1200 now
I'm going to get my first change this Saturday...mileage estimate for this Saturday is about 1350-1400

I was speaking with Scott from Fontana Nissan last week since I had about 600 miles on my car. He was saying that 600-1000 miles you're pretty broken in already and he also mentioned doing the oil changed around that range to flush out the metal shavings. I may be misquoting Scott(I tend to do that sometimes. Sorry if I am. I have selective hearing) Everyone has different opinions can't really tell you what to do with yours. Reading through the oil threads(veryyyy long), I still couldn't get a straight answer since everyone has different opinions.

I'd wait till 1500 or 2k and put in some fresh oil of your choice?

There is a new Canyon thread in the Socal section, if you want to join in sometime?

Hey XdeslitX and Trips, Thanks for the info on the oil change, I guess I should wait till 1500-2000 just to be safe aha.

and thanks for the invite on the canyon run, sounds great, but I'm going to be needing an oil cooler for it. I don't have one yet so i'll have to pass this time. =/
I really want to go out to the next central meet in cerritos though, I'll try to come out this time. I hope the mascot shows up again LOL

I've seen posts from people saying that they run fine without an oil cooler.
When did you get your car since you only have 700 miles on it?
LOL I feel like I've been driving A LOT

Having a thermostatic plate is always a good idea, but if you don't have one and live in socal it should be fine too.

Mine is running around 160-170F on highway speeds since the Nissan cooler installation last week. I went with the Nissan cooler because the car is relatively new and I wanted to make sure there is no liability of another aftermarket one. I was wondering if the 165F may be too cold but the dealer technician says it is totally fine. In stop and go SoCal traffic or slightly spirited driving, the temp gets up to 190-205F. Perhaps it might perfect for the SoCal summer time. Before the installation even a simple stop and go traffic or 10 min of gentle uphill climb would bring it upto 245-250.
