Wheel Repair in So Cal

Well it happened :( I always park at least a foot from the curb when I have to but I wasn't paying attention to the (#&%#( curb as I was parking and my front passenger wheel hit a piece of curb that was broken off which left a nice 10 inch rash on my wheel. Any recommendations where I can take to get this fixed or they can come to my workplace? Thanks in advance!!

Alloy Wheel Repair

Mobile Alloy Wheel Repair 909-909-319-4447, they will come to you, but if you want to travel to them, they are in City of Industry/Walnut off the 60fwy. They have turned my Volks numerous times, perfect like new when finished. Note: the guy stutters, a little hard to understand, but he's a stand up businessman.

check out Tru Wheel in North Hollywood. They worked magic on my AME Gracers when I ran over a steel girder on the freeway (yep you read that right!) and both right wheels were badly bent. Fixed in a week and they looked amazing! They're very reasonable on pricing as well.

Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. I'm extra careful now. I'd love to fix my wheel too. Does anybody know how much it normally costs?

It's 70 for one wheel and gets cheaper if you have more.

Not the entire wheel. Just the affected area.

370Z JT 04-14-2010 01:29 AM

they do everything while the wheel is on the car?

That's a positive. It only took him 10 minutes to fix that rash.

I just got mine repaired by these guys, they came out to my work and it looks great.

My dad and I traded cars over the weekend and he totally jacked up my rim on a curb (poor guy was scared to tell me). I called Dr. Wheel today and they're coming out. The guy said $60-$90 over the phone. Do you guys tip the technician that comes out or just give him exactly what they quoted?

Ouch...hope it gets fixed!
When are you gonna come out to the meets and canyons?
I didn't get to see your car when you came by my shop.

I'm itching to do a canyon run but want to wait a couple more months until I can get an oil cooler installed. I know I can survive without one but I don't want to limit myself. Did you get the Stillen cooler? How's it working out?

I really wanted to come out on the 11th but couldn't make it, hopefully I'll be able to make the meet on the 6th. I'll give you a heads up if I can make it maybe we can roll together.

I got the Stillen 25 row
Working pretty well. I don't see my temps getting higher than 220.

KingZee 09-20-2010 08:31 PM

Joe from Dr. Wheel came to my office and fixed the wheel for $80...looks great. Thanks for the rec. djward

 that's a very good price...almost scary, you have pics?

wishihadnav 11-03-2010 05:14 PM

whoa $20 sounds too good to be true...

LightsOut 11-04-2010 09:08 AM

seriously google Son Tran and his name will pop up everywhere.

I dont have pics cause I just didn't want any memories up my scuff. Son repaired only one wheel of mine that curbed while pulling into the gas station. I thought it was bad and when he quoted me over the phone he said 40-60. When I met up with him in OC (autobachs old parking lot) he looked at it and said "easy".

took him about 15 min in total time. No need to take off the wheel.

I drive a g37 sedan with slightly stretched tires and low offsets, so my wheels have to look good at all times and I knew only person who will take pride in their work would be son tran.

I might seem like a newbie here but I'm mainly at myg37 and g35driver. I saw this thread and just had to post my experience. And to build up my post count..lol

HelluvaG 11-05-2010 07:33 PM

20 bucks is a killer deal. ive always got mike from velvet touch to do my wheels. hes not that cheap but hes reasonable. mike does great work.

Judono 11-08-2010 07:47 PM

Just came back from Velvet Touch today and they said my wheel needs to be refinished. I guess wheels with an anodized lip can not be repaired properly by a mobile repair man.

How i want my BBS LM's to look see the lips he painted his custom color
this guys also reverse the faces so they look more aggressive than mine

Waiz 11-09-2010 12:47 AM

They just need to be striped and repolished.

Eli should be able to fix them, he works on alot of high-end Porsches and usually has some sick cars in his shop.
