mine cracked at zdayz this year, had safelite do the replacement.

Lothario 11-14-2013 07:54 AM

no, oem not covered, but the replacement glass has the black "matrix" on it just like the oem. (the black stuff around the edges).

Lothario 11-14-2013 11:16 AM

i wont accept anything non oem. ive seen to many issues with distortion, leaks, etc...

if they show up with anything else, they get sent on their way.

mwhit02 11-15-2013 09:14 AM

So I'm thinking of switching over to Mobil 1 synthetic oil. What weight should I get for the Winter months here?

xxAGAVExx 11-15-2013 09:32 AM

Winter? Not familiar with that, is that a season other than Summer?

You will need to pay the cash difference for them to bring oem.

What are you talking about, we live in the same city.

The average low in Tampa over the Winter months is in the 40's and 50's. That's still pretty dang cold. Hence why I asked what weight oil I should run Nov-Feb.

Tampa Fl Roll Call

U new to Florida? I'm just messing with ya, our winters are like most peoples summers, we only get about 2 weeks of the year of anything that dips in the 30's at night. I'm certainly no expert but I don't think our temp swings warrant a change in oil weight, at least for daily street driving anyway.

Honestly with Nissan glass I would be happy with something that wasn't oem. Nissan glass is the softest I've ever seen, I have thousands of tiny little chips and pock marks in mine with less than 50k miles. I had a Chevy s10 with 175k miles with a win shield in better shape than this one. You have a good chance of getting a better quality windshield if they don't go oem lol.

Zdayz 2014!!

Lothario 11-26-2013 10:02 AM

now someone tells me. lol

Question re Rotors???

This might sound like a stupid question but are there any issues turning/re-surfacing rotors that have been drilled and slotted?

Tampa definitely is where it's at. I'm only in California for the money. Once I retire I will turn my California dollars into Confederate dollars, move to Tampa, and live like a king!

That was my next move, I just figured someone local might know.

kellyefields 11-26-2013 05:59 PM

I would be ok turning rotors that are slotted or drilled by them selves but with both I would be learly

PapaJFresh 11-26-2013 06:33 PM

Has anyone here installed Z1 silicone radiator hoses? I'm having a hell of a time getting the upper hose all the way on the the radiator neck. Here's where I have it so far, and it's not moving no matter what I do.

Hope you are making a ton because the taxes, cost of home ownership in California are nuts. Its why I moved to Tampa from Boston.

Also, just wanted to say hello. New member here, I just had my first Z delivered to me yesterday.

My best friends dad had 2 back in the day (I think they were a 90 and 92) and I always wanted one. Figured I would treat myself this year to one.

I had a buddy move to Tampa from here, he was like 22 years old, barely starting his career, so he was able to easily move. I'm on a retirement countdown and it'd be nice to live in Tampa without having to work. I had a house in Tampa which after the crash was worth $22K, I wish I bought it back! Home prices here are nuts but so is what they pay you for work. Best paying state but then you pay out in buckets too.

Soften the end of the hose in hot water, you will find it will go in easier, let it cool down before you put the clamp on.

Thanks, what about if coolant is already back in the system? I tried warming the engine up and have the coolant soften the hose from inside as that seems to be the place where it's stuck, not much success there either. Would a hairdryer work?

Hey brother,
Sorry I have been off for a while.. Most shops will not turn Slotted or dimpled rotors. The gaps tend to chip there bits. I was trying to find a place a few years back but was unsuccessful in Tampa.

A quote from my buddy at Absolute Automotive, " Hell No " he didn't want to risk braking his machine. :tiphat:

If you do find a place please share it with us.. That guy will get some serious business from all of us ! :rofl2:

***** I still have your hood struts, are you walking around yet?
