The HRE wheels look great. By the same token, a set of 20s is going to cost at least $5800-$6500 for just the wheels. I think more of us would entertain them if prices were more reasonable. I know I would........

IMHO... go RAYS wheels!!! if it's price you're worried about, Gram Lights are of great quality for the price... and go with Volk Racing if you wanna bling out a little and have the cash to spare... my top choice over other wheels, and cheaper than HREs! ;)

anywho, nice choice with the Works.

btw, i may stop by Z1 on the 3rd... not definite. if i did, could i dyno even though i don't tell you in advance?

You don't have to get on a list to dyno. Priority will be given to 370Z/G37 owners. Once those have an opportunity to dyno anyone is free to get dynoed. I believe the plan is to do one car every 30 minutes so the dyno will be going on all day.

Yep, have some other buds that might come but they gotta wait. :) PS - Z1 has several read JDM fog lights and makes the extended wiring harnesses, so get yours while they are hot, I just got mine in, only took 30 min of work. James got his a few weeks ago too and we both love em. Beats the bejunkus out of the stock black panel and lights up like the JDM factory light when the running lights are on.

Tempting, I might get one installed while I'm down there!

atl370z 06-29-2010 08:30 AM

I will try to make it down there this Sat :driving:
Maybe I'll ask my gf to bring her mazdaspeed3 and get it dyno after all the 370z/g37 owners gets done too.

'10Anamoly 06-29-2010 08:56 AM

Viera,

Do it, join the JDM fog crowd, come to the bright red side, stray from the dark (black fog) side..

alt370z,

I traded in my speed3 to get the 370Z. What year is hers?

I had a 2008 with the Mazdaspeed CAI, turbo inlet, test pipe and AP tune. Was a torque monster but didnt have near the pull that the Z does up top. Kind of useless in a FWD car for racing but was definately fun to drive.

atl370z 06-29-2010 12:25 PM

It's a 08 speed3 with zero mod on it.
What would you suggest first mod she should do or whats the most bang for the buck mod?

Best trouble free mod is the official Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intake. Adds 10-20hp and a nice sound with little to no side effects. However, you MUST make sure you buy the newer version which has the airflow straightener. Without this, the fuel trims will be off by a lot and you run the risk of a check engine light. You can also get some silicone boost tubes from StreetUnit which are a nice upgrade for boost stability. I'd get the new version of the mazdaspeed cold air intake, silicone boost tubes and a catback and call it a day with that car honestly.

Otherwise, there is not too much more to do that wont start to affect fuel trims noticeably. You need to be able to tune to get more involved, even for turbo inlets/test pipes etc. Also the turbos have a bad habit of smoking due to a poor PCV system so you want to make sure the warranty is honored under any circumstances. Mazda only has band-aid fixes for the PCV like using thicker oil, no real fix for it.

atl370z 06-29-2010 01:32 PM

"Sorry for the none 370z related topic here"

But yes, her speed3 did have the white smoking issue until Dealer did a oil change with thicker oil. There is no sign of smoking so far and all the oil change is going to be free at the dealer until Mazda have come up witha real solution for the fix.
I was actually thinking to go with CPE SRI instead of cold air due to price and any hydrolock problem. But I know the dealer probably'll give us crap for that.

CPE SRI is good, but the CAI's give you a more linear torque curve. The SRI tends to make more power up top from my experience and are a bit jumpy when the heat soaks up. If you do go with an SRI though, definately get the CPE and not Cobb. The Cobb does not run well without a tune.

atl370z 06-30-2010 06:55 AM

cool, I'll keep that in mind! thanks

The factory Reverse Fog light is supposed to have a "Fog" Switch. Even with the switch ON, it will only activate the light when the head lights are switched ON.

To make the installation simple and painless, I suggest tapping into the Tag Light wires. The Fog Light does not pull that much power and will not trigger the blown blub light on the dash. Once you tap into these wires, you can simple drop the wires down the inside of the rear fascia and connect it to the fog light. Just make sure you secure the wires away from the exhaust. I will be supplying all reverse fog lights with an extended harness and 2 Scotch-Lock connectors for a quick install, however I HIGHLY recommend soldering the wires for a much more connection.

Are you guys able to hook the fog light up to the break lights, so when you break it lights up?

We can do it any way that you like.

If it matters, I think the JDM setup has the rear fog running when the running lights are on. Z1 did a great job with the wiring on mine!

The car looks sick Kev. We need more pics. I thought you said you were going to head over there after work. Give me a call after work and I'll let you know what the status is.

jadeb0x 07-04-2010 05:55 PM

so to continue from the last thread about a monthly GTG... i wouldn't mind doing something monthly around the perimeter mall or lenox mall area.

i think i have james beat coming from mall of georgia all the way to Z1... ;)

daisuke149 07-04-2010 06:07 PM

id say though we move it around each month. do something different. We could always go to z1 when like a few of us need something done etc.

I came from Augusta. :driving: Yesterday was my only day off this week, and I had to drive back home first thing this morning in order to make it to work for my 12 hour shift starting at 11am. What a weekend!

lol... well i meant in the ATL vicinity... glad you could make it!

didn't the Z/G owners meet at the taco mac at perimeter mall on a regular basis a few years back? i remember reading something about it on the importatlanta forums... if not a restaurant with a patio, how about a coffee shop... like a starbucks?

Viera 07-09-2010 05:16 PM

Hey guys, so yesterday I was pulled over in Gwinnett for having my Fast Intentions license plate holder on. He told me it was illegal and having that on a really flashy car makes it even worse? What gives? Is this true? He just gave me a warning and said that if i was ever around Gwinnett again and he sees me with the same plate holder, he'll give me a ticket. The guy was a real douche from the moment he stepped up to my window to when he let me go... I've never had problems with that on around Marietta. But anyway, it's off now....

I might do that... how's my butthole doing? lol

Mike 07-09-2010 08:36 PM

yeah, my buddy in a 350Z got a ticket for a Nissan plateholder in Gwinnett because it covered the county name. Dude was a real prick even though his mom was in the car with him. Thought there was no way an 18 year old like him should have the car. This was when the 350 just came out, and Joseph had been saving for years for it. Paid cash for most of the car himself.
