ATL Area G/Z Owners -- Time For the 1st Spring Mountain Run in April
 

What's up guys? I think it's about time for a mountain run. Below is the information about the route we did the last time. Please vote on the date(s) that works best for you so I can finalize everything. YOU MAY CHOOSE MULTIPLE DATES. I hope most of you who attended that MEGA Southeast GTG on March 19th will be able to make this run.

Riverstone Pkwy to I-575 S - Google Maps Scroll left to find the route in BLUE
1. Leave Canton Starbucks - get a coffee for on the road (point A)
2. Stop 1 at the overlook - take some pics and enjoy the scenery
3. Stop 2 if lunchtime stop at Chic-fil-A in Dahlonega with possible pictures at lake Zwerner just north of there (point G on map).
4. Stop at Vogel state park - not sure if we have to pay to get in, but maybe stop there for a minute.
5. Head back folks from the east-side can take 400 back south, other take rt 53 through Dawsonville to Tate, which is a nice route.

I picked Sunday the 10th by accident. Dang IPhone. But Saturday on the 9th and 23rd are good. I like Sundays but I have meetings in the morning from 7 to 10.

Man it's been awhile since I've been there. Later well have to discuss the route you guy like. I only know one that I always took. Plus I'd like to see again where I had my accident if I can remember.

I set it up that you should be able to select multiple dates. You should be able to go back and select them, I think......I will track the selections and highlight the dates that work the best so a final selection can be made.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Our goal during our runs continues to be bringing all cars back. We hope this will continue as it will get more and more challenging as the numbers increase.

I just can't wait to get my LSD installed. That will be a big plus for this event.

If its a Saturday I can go depending on the date. I have a couple of Cobra radios w/7mi range (line of sight).:happydance:

There is a HUGE Genesis Dragon meet April 8-10, we all should combine a big mountain run.

i can't do the 9-10th nor the 16-17th but i'm open the weekend open after i think... that's what i voted for, not that my vote counts... :P

The 9th is a detailing clinic, the 17th is import alliance. perhaps the 24th would be my vote or any other day.

I'm getting tires soon and I'm not sure if they'll be broken in by early April. As Lee's mentioned before, there's a few events going on. I picked the 23rd and 24th.

Also, have you considered adding this portion to the route? The 2 times I've gone, this is the route I've taken and it's quite enjoyable.

I voted for Saturday and Sunday the 23rd and 24th but I think the 24th is probably THE best for me right now.

Prob will have to be a Sunday this time for me.

I really want to make sure that safety is emphasized for this run. I really do not like the guys who think public roads are their proving grounds and try to race around.

when are we going to know what date we are doing this? And what time will we start?

How many stops are we planning on making? I am a bit concerned about my lack of an oil cooler.

I don't have an oil cooler either bro and have been fine both times we've gone. We normally stop 2-3 times for pictures.

Gettting my Uprev and LSD installed on the 11th. :woot: And picking up my Sport brake upgrade from Z1 next Monday. I'll be good to go then.

When will you decide on they day? It is getting close to some of those dates.

We will finalize the date this weekend.

Maybe we can do a Saturday and a Sunday run. Looks like we have quite a few interested in a Sunday run.

i was hitting 250 on my base last time we went... not sure if i'll make this one, if so, i'll just show up when a date is decided upon.

if i do go... i'll be one of the cars in the back, not too interested in pushing my car close to its limits... that's how i felt at least last time.

I'll prob hang out toward the back as well. I have not tested the limits of this car yet so I'd rather ramp up the speed at my own pace. Plus... I'm technically still in the break-in period.

another thing that was holding me back, was that i had never been down those roads before... and i am always hesitant when it comes to unfamiliar (curving) roads.

I dont even live in state and I'm coming! Just keep your eyes open and foot down!

• Saturday, April 23rd

We can either do both to accomodate to most of us or just vote for one. Let me know what you would like to do.
