I'd much rather have a hurricane or something, instead of freezing weather for 5 months, 4-foot blizzards three times a year, congestion, non-stop rain that lasts for hours or days, chewed up bumpy roads and potholes.

February cannot come soon enough for me. I can't wait to move to Windermere already.

Dont expect very good roads around here either. Also dont underestimate hurricanes. The normal weather how ever is very nice

AlphaSnacks 09-08-2012 11:07 AM

Maybe not in Tampa. But I've driven up and down and everywhere around Orlando and haven't seen a single pothole or hit a single bump in the road. The highways are extremely smooth and well kept, as are all of the blvds (University, Semoran, Goldenron, Aloma, Alafaya, etc etc etc) and the roads around my house in Windermere are pristine as well (Chase Rd, Conroy, Vineland, etc).

Anything is better than NYC roads.

i travel to NYC and Long Island quite often for work and i can vouche for the crappy roads and potholes there! Much worse than here. I don't think i'd ever take my Z into the city if i lived there.

Well thats good the road around me all suck. One stretch of road I drive every day (no way around it) is pot hole after pot hole, and every time it rains the filler they put in it washes out. I know the money they spend patching it could have paid 3x over for a new road. Thank goodness we dont have to drive either Z every day we both have DD's.

In the 2 years I've owned my Z...it has NEVER entered Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, or Bronx. It's just Queens and out east to Long Island - avoiding every **** road I know. Almost hardly use Long Island Expressway, 80% Grand Central/Northern State for me.

Soon though, the entire front end will be wrapped in blue masking tape and it embarks on a 1000 mile journey down south. Hahaha.

I don't know how far it would be for you, but you guys might want to check out Nova road sometime. It's almost 25 miles of straight road out in the middle of nowhere. A lot of people go out there at night for fun.

That's great to hear!

Do you buy your fuel just wherever, or do you frequent particular vendors? I tend to purchase from Sunoco and Shell.

nismochiq 09-09-2012 01:07 AM

I usually go to chevron but couldn't that one rainy day it just was bad timing on getting fuel on my part.

Huck 09-09-2012 08:39 AM

I only go to Mobil. They are a little bit more expensive, but they are worth it in my opinion because they are a top tier gas retailer and have the best additives that I know of in their gas. This is taken from www.toptiergas.com/retailers.

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Retailers

Gasoline retailers must meet the high TOP TIER standards with all grades of gasoline to be approved by the automakers as providing TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.

In addition, all gasoline outlets carrying the brand of the approved retailer must meet the TOP TIER standards.

I'm actually funny about using the same gas station all the time myself, although after seeing that list i may consider finding a new one.

syntax1269 09-09-2012 12:30 PM

i originally used chevron for a while, and then the station that i was going to always seemed to have their CC machines down. so then i tried out Shell for a bit, and so far i think it seems to be a bit better on the butt dyno.

BP and Exxon followed Shell.

Mr&Mrs 09-09-2012 05:55 PM

My wife and I passed a nice looking blonde driving a red sports package in our Z's last night. We were going north on I-75 just before the Gibsington exit.
