Lmao! Hope it wasn't in the Z. I've had a close encounter too. First time drifting the z with vdc off. Didn't pull the ebrake. Hit my head on the door side lol. 2nd time actually ripped the ebrake and it didn't do anything. Lol all good now.

all i have is the truck. i was going around a 180(ish) degree right hander (with good vision, there was nothing coming for miles), i downshifted to 2nd, gave it some gas and popped the clutch. the back end stepped out normally, i held it for about 2 or 3 seconds and as i started to come out of it, i hit a bump (possibly wet leaves, it all happened so fast) and the whole truck started shifting and twitching, the back end grabbed traction and jumped over to the passenger side. all four wheels stayed on the road but the guardrail was right up against the edge of the road (the kind that's so close it makes you nervous when there's oncoming traffic), and i just barely tapped it with the rear fender on the passenger side. put a little 1/2" deep, 4" long dent in the fender below the tail light and above the rear bumper (thankfully missed both of those)

yea i was just startled more than anything, it'd never acted like that before. my girlfriend was with me and she wasn't even shaken up she was immediately like "oh ****, hope the truck's ok" cause it was so minor. still haven't gotten it fixed. seems like every time i have a little money in the bank something comes up that i need to spend it on elsewhere, last week i needed a new battery

Im in for a Charleston trip. My gals mother lives there so I got a place to stay (unless she's driving me nuts then i'll get a hotel room). We plan to get down there regardless of a meet so when we do i'll give you a shout. Maybe we can get together for a night out and drinks or something.

Wow you came out pretty good on that one. it could have been much worse. I had a similar situation. It was a long time ago. I don't know what I was thinking. Long story short....... I over corrected when trying to switch the side of the drift and spun into someone's front yard. Nothing major happened to the car I had at the time, just a little scraped up underneath. Scared me enough to where I won't try it on the street again. And I don't recommend anyone trying it without having tons of open space.

yea i don't drive like that normally, i saw an opportunity to have some fun on a back road heading back from the mountains. we hadn't passed anyone in 20 mins and i had miles of vision of the road ahead after the turn and there wasn't even anyone there either. it was a random, stupid decision and it cost me. lesson learned.

do it where it's safe, bring your car to an autox like the one in april and go big, worst that can happen is you hit a traffic cone, no big deal.

well the rule of thumb is, if you don't hit a cone, you weren't trying hard enough
