I have asked around and have been told there is a lot of places to go around here, we will have to set up a weekend to go. Maybe get some of the guys from here?

The kit I'm getting is not the most expensive but I have not found a bad review on it. Hopefully the first of march I will have it all done.

ClemsonWill 01-26-2012 10:38 AM

April will probably work better for me. But we need to pick a date and stick to it.

XwChriswX 01-26-2012 12:46 PM

I was talking today about wanting to run the dragon Before ZDayZ having never driven it myself so that way I'm not a total n00b there. Would you guys wanna have an SC Crew pre-game Dragon Run?

HKYStormFront 01-26-2012 12:47 PM

april would be a good time for that... or late march :stirthepot:

XwChriswX 01-26-2012 12:50 PM

Gotta break in the new toys. :stirthepot:

Yeah, but gotta take extra steps before going. You could get cited for holding your phone, camera, gps. Get cited for going off the pavement, cops are really anal.

Only need Phone/GPS to get there. Once I'm on the road, shit gets real. Electronics off, radio up, :driving: time.

Yeah I'm gonna be working on installing my radar detector this week. Gotta get all the parts out and figure out cable routing. That's gonna be the most difficult part. The actual install is pretty straight forward.

I just mine in the center console and glove box. Easiest wiring I've ever done!

Which one do you have? I got the 9500ci myself, thinking of putting the speaker in the passenger floorboard. The controller... somewhere, and I'm not sure about the display/control panel. I'd love to have the display mirror thing you can get, but not about to drop $400 for a mirror... :ugh2:

So I dunno about those, but as long as I get the sensors cables routed into the cab, that's honestly the hardest part for me.

Got one from a friend its an xtr 558, not the best but it works. I was thinking about getting a 9500, saw a guy selling his for $350 here, but never replied back.

There's a difference between the 9500ix and the 9500ci. I have the latter which is a bit more of an install and is $1200. The ix is the window mount which I'm not a fan of personally.

Any advantages in the newer model? I like window mounts, idk that's just me.

It's not a newer model, it's a completely different setup. Whereas the ix is a window mount, the ci is a fully installed into the car. There are 2 laser shifters in the front bumper and 1 radar receiver. Then another shifter that will go over the tag. With a speaker, controller, and display.

Ohh, yeah, Jim told me about that on the way to Charleston. $1200 is a bit much imo.

It is, but it does have all the features of the ix and its a more stealthy look, especially if you have a cop who doesn't like seeing one inside the car. And some states they're illegal.

So it's just better for me, gucci I know... but oh well.

:icon18:  good thing we need that stealthy look for when we're in Virginia/Washington lol. I hear Tennessee is trying to make radar detectors illegal.

This is why I'm getting one, I'll be making trips through there pretty often to go see family. Not worth the hassle.

HKYStormFront 01-26-2012 06:50 PM

one of my friends is putting together a week long tour of the southeast leading up to zdayz. we are planning to stop in columbia, sc on may 12th for lunch. we are hoping to set up some kind of meet that day and gather the local z crowd. everyone in this thread is welcome to be there as well! we will be heading up to anderson that night and Z1 the next morning. then on to AL, TN, KY and back down to NC on thursday for ZdayZ :woot:

Matthew 01-26-2012 09:48 PM

Saw a black Nismo today driving on 25. I have seen several time over the past few weeks, the front window was tinted almost half way down. Looked clean

I am up for what ever for the meet just need to know as farin advance as possible.

Also my apartment in Asheville is only a little over an hour from zdayz so I may p,an a day trip there.

I think Matthew was the first to reply on that the last time we decided to do this, lol. Either way will get it done. I'll check the calender tomorrow. BTW what road were we thinking about running the last time we got together. Was it the dragon. If not it was something closer that had nasty mountain turns aswell.

Those are usually the things we worry about after the cruise leaving downtown Greenville:icon17:

I can't do the first week in April so maybe we can plan the meet for the 14th or 21st?

I'm probably going to be in Clemson Feb 18-19th if any of you guys want to meet up for dinner. I won't have the Z though.

I'm thinking about buying a set of spacers for my stock 19s. But I want the extended stud H&Rs. Anyone know if the extended studs will still fit with my extended Rays duralumin legs nuts when I put the TE37s back on? Basically I spend half the year on TEs and half the year on my Rays so I want the car to look good both ways.

I don't see any reason why we couldn't this far out... Unless Patrick has a shoot to go do in NC. But he'll know his schedule for those better than I...

Those have closed ends right?

The thing with spacers is when you get the extended studs, those are for 15mm or less... 20mm or more, which is what the stockers deserve, you should get the type II spacers with the studs built into the spacer. Those will be the same length as a stock hub so there's no problem there.

If you do however decide to go with just extended studs, the spacer will take up the excess length of the studs. Example:

Standard Stud Length: 35mm (just for demonstration purposes, not sure the actual length of our studs)

Extended Stud Length: 50mm

Spacer Width: 15mm

50mm - 15mm = 35mm

So you'll be at the same starting point you were without the spacers. If your lugs fit then, they'll still fit with spacers.

HKYStormFront 01-30-2012 01:38 PM

spacers FTW richie!

as for feb 18-19th. i'm not sure yet. most likely i will be in NC every weekend of feb other than this coming weekend for the superbowl. we've got a shitton of cars to shoot by the end of the month, looks like that will be all the time we have to do so :( we were hoping to spread the contract out over the course of the year but circumstances have changed (which is a good thing for the owner) and our timetable has become quite truncated.
