I wanted to rig up the body of my car to carry about 350,000 volts in case someone tried to break in, but apparently that would lead to legal issues. Think I could run wires in the soft top that'd defibrillate someone if they tried to cut the top?

you could just get a $500 alarm system and not worry about it... thieves suck no doubt about it but at the end of the day (and don't take this as an insult), it's just a car

:iagree: they'll have a hard time to steal the car because of the key and such, good thing there's insurance :)

Not yet, I think I have a buyer. For the time the company is paying the mortgage so I'll just sit on it.

I never used to before because I wore glasses. Now that I finally can wear a pair of oakleys, when my new ones come in I most likely will.

Only thing I'm debating is to rock the blue lenses which are polarized. Or the red lenses which are not polarized... The frame is supposed to be a gunmetal color so we'll have to see when they arrive. The theme of the car is Black/Red so I'm thinking the blue will clash... but polarized lenses ftw.

I wear glasses, the ones that turns to shade when UV hits it, forgot what they're called. Transitions. Had contacts but (ex) girlfriend flushed them down the toilet. Bought some nice oaks right after i got em. :(

Yeah I didn't think they were worth the cost so I never got those. Plus I worked in dim lighting conditions looking at a bright screen, couldn't have them going nuts 'transitioning' all the time... :icon17:

Then again you probably don't have an astigmatism in each eye and, light sensitive. Lol

Mine cost $4k and the risks are less than .05% of something happening. It's one of the least risky surgeries you can get. Provided you do as you're told afterwards with remembering to use the drops.

4k...? Yeah, I'll just deal with these glasses lol.

IMWEZL 01-13-2012 07:04 PM

I had PRK done on my eyes so I'm always wearing one of my Oakleys. Gotta protect my 20/10 vision and look good in the Z.

Now all I have to do is fine some motivation to install all these parts on my ride :)

Most insurances cover it... Or at least half. It would be something worth looking into.

I got PRK as well. How long until you got to 20/10. I'm still 20/20 at best...

IMWEZL 01-15-2012 05:59 PM

I had mines done back in 05. I just recently had an eye exam and the doc couldn't even tell I had surgery.

Now I just use it for spotting speed enforcement on the highways :)

My son has glasses and with his situation lazer surgery is no option (obvioiusly age and condition). He wears a patch 2 hours a day. Thanks to the Lord he does not have a lazy eye but if I could sell my Z to make everything ok I would.. I guess what im saying is, that if im saying anything at all is, at least you have the option for it!

:iagree: Very true. It's something I'd always wanted to do, but never had the chance. So when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at it. And I'm glad I did. I wish the price would drop more so it was available to more people. I think that's why we're now starting to see it appear on more and more insurance plans, and even job offered insurance is starting to have laser surgery as a covered procedure.

Hopefully the technology will advance and the price will drop to the point that it could help your Son.

ClemsonWill 01-17-2012 11:33 AM

I need to get mine done. I just keep pushing it off.

Welcome! More people popping up in the low country. Come spring we are definitely going to have to get a local meet together.
