cookout was good! had a few local and out of town friends come down. grill worked great (it's been 2 years since i cranked it up at least) and chris' projector and big screen was a big hit (http://www.the370z.com/members/frost...8t-rimshot.gif), we all watched archer till late in the morning :D

blah i'm behind on posts. spent about 10 hours building this device for my passport 9500ix that had sockets on it so once you slid it on automatically connected to the direct wired cord and the external speaker. functional, but looked so ghetto i was ashamed to post pictures and i scrapped it until i make version 2.0 haha.

Thats why I decided to go with the 9500ci versus the xi. I'm not a fan of window mounts, plus this gives me more stealth when driving through places that :shakes head: on radar detectors. I'll be pulling everything out of the box tomorrow and beginning the install.

I'm going to make up a DIY so I'll hopefully remember to take pics along the way. I imagine it being a 1-2 day install since I'll purposely be going slow to document it.

So I spotted a beautiful Z on the way to work this morning. Unfortunately he was on the side of the interstate with some very bright blue lights twirling behind him. I think it was TopGone. Car looked so good. Hopefully the state trooper just pulled him over to say how nice his car was!

Later March sounds good. As long as it's not the first weekend. I will be pulling a hangover in Vegas that weekend. Hopefully nobody ends up with a baby or loses any teeth.

The one drive we had was 276 and 178. Both were good roads. However next time I think we need to hit it early in the am to miss some of the slow traffic. :tiphat:

lol i got a Nexus today as well. i took my bionic (POS) back to the main verizon store here in anderson today and they gave me a full return price for it so i only had to pay the difference and "restocking fee" for the bionic ($50ish total). i'm happy with that. i'm just glad to be rid of that infernal bionic. what a let down motorola :shakes head:

They wouldn't let me return my bionic for a razr. I offered to pay the restock and additional $50, but they wouldn't. Nothing wrong with my bionic though.

i was on my 3rd bionic and the one i had was having major issues. yesterday (like my previous two) it just completely dropped data and did not pick it back up for over 24 hours. that was the last straw to me. i pay $30/mo to get the data plan. why should i have a phone that doesn't even work to utilize that?

Awesome! I think everyone I know bought it today. Supposed to be the best phone to come out in a while. We'll see. I am sceptical of these things.


Some of this was probably not the phones fault. Something has been going on with the LTE network the last couple months. When it's good, it's really good but when it's not, it's a pain in the arse. Supposedly that's why they held off on the nexus release.

we don't even have 4G here in anderson yet :shakes head: the network issues were related directly to the phone i think. i'm at work now and i have better signal (and 3G when i didn't before). i seriously think the bionic has hardware issues. they probably resolved them for the razr but it seems like the bionic was shoved out for no reason. why not just wait for the razr?

Yeah, happened to mine too, verizon rep said they are updating their cell towers to make SC 4g coverage.

If it makes ya'll feel any better - I got a Nexus One over 3 years ago, and it still frankly outclasses most cellphones on the market today. I had features years ago that my girlfriend's iPhone4 just "upgraded" to. IceCreamSandwich will be the first upgrade that it will not be receiving, so i'm on android 2.3.6 for the forseeable future.

I will only buy "developer" / "nexus" phones from now on. No other way to guarantee that you'll get every single update to come out, until hardware eventually becomes the limiting factor.

yea one thing i like a lot is that you can "disable" apps you don't want that are spamware on the app menu. really helps clean up all the BS that comes preloaded. can't uninstall it completely unfortunately but at least you don't have to scroll through a ton of apps you don't want/need/use

After messing around with the Razr in a store I decided it was even wider than my droid X and that's a problem. I don't like not being able to thumb through everything while holding it. So I'll need to dabble with the nexus for a bit and see if it's better.

I've been a moto follower for some time since the original razr came out. Not so sure about Samsung, but they seem to be dominating many electronic markets... So I'll give them a decent chance with this one.

it was on sale today for $250 at the store i was at, it was $300 normal "2 year contract" price which is on par with all the other 4G phones.

Hmm, I wonder if I should go get it and renew my contract and just get an SC number now... My current contract comes up for 'free upgrade' in March... that's why I'm like :icon08:

They are probably doing early upgrades because holiday season.

I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow and talk details with them. I need to get an updated number anyways, so I might just go ahead and start a new contract now. We shall see, it depends on if they have one in the store or not.
