Sonoma was awesome, earthquake and all. You can watch any PWC race at anytime after it's originally aired live online at World Challenge TV . Brian did great in yesterday's race, it was very exciting. I'm going to go watch it now since I was only able to see a few corners and missed most of the action.

I've got a car up for sale in case anyone here locally is interested. Selling it for a good friend of mine:

2005 Legacy GT Limited (AT) - Garnet Red Pearl

That's your girl's car right? What's she getting next when it sells?

Looks like a 15 2-door GTI, we'll see.

Chip that beast ASAP if it happens

I used to have a 2007 GTI with APR chip and ebay downpipe / cat delete, it was pretty fast!

Are APR brand mods still covered under warranty? Seems like some might be... But I can't remember. While I was looking for RS6's I came across some info that APR mods, if installed at a dealership, were covered under warranty. Kinda like Rousch mods on a Mustang, Nismo mods on a Nissan, etc.

Yea some dealers will still cover the car if you buy the tune from them, normally a few hundred more but worth it. Mine was used so the warranty wasn't much of a concern.

I doubt if she gets one it will be modified in any way on the performance front. Since it's a VW it'll probably need a greatly extended warranty, and she wouldn't want to void it.

HKYStormFront 08-28-2014 08:27 AM

Yeah if she wants to keep it, an extended warranty is not a bad way to go. I've heard the new VW's are better but back in the late 90's and early 00's when I was working on them... holy sheet.

Based on the early 00's, it'll get sold around the 5yr mark probably.

Just to throw my 2 cents in on the VW. Definitely get the extended warranty. My borther-in-law went to VW's special tech school then worked on them for 2-3 years. He said it was rediculous how many of them came back for repairs shortly after the customer drove them off the lot. He got so fed up with doing VW warranty work that he went to Acura.

ClemsonWill 08-28-2014 10:15 AM

Rooskey, when are you going to bring the GTR down here for a tune?

I just got my HKS midpipe and catback in last week. Yea those two set me back $3,000. That being said I am just going to ride with those mods for a while. Next on the list is AMS downpipes, Gotboost intakes, injectors, and tune.
Whats your tuners name, and is he on gtrlife.com?
