Yea I should be able to, where's this karting place you're all talking about? I've only lived here for 10 months so I'm still learning

It's pretty easy to find, it's a big metal building, parking can be a little tricky if there's a lot of cars there as the lot is kinda small.

Well... a few of my friends keep telling me to go to a Zoe's, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. That said, the people that recommended it have pretty similar food tastes to my own. I'm also down for Thai if you guys would prefer that. I probably won't have time for the kart'ing after, which sounds awesome by the way, but hopefully next time the schedule will allow. I hate this stupid mid shift nonsense.

Boooo, y u no go karting?! Like I said, I can be at the restaurant as early as 6pm or so but I don't know that everyone else can. I just dread the traffic right in that area that time of day. I purposefully avoid that mess at all costs whenever possible :icon14: Also, unless they have a huge line of people waiting, which would be pretty unusual, you can typically get racing within the first 10 mins of walking in. Races last 10 mins or so, therefore even if we did two sessions, the most time I've ever been there has been less than an hour.

:bowrofl::bowrofl: Nope, even though the 5th gen Camaro's have been recalled, my Holden hasn't. I do have a slightly different key setup than the Camaro, granted.

Also, GM should now use the tag line "RECALL ALL THE THINGS!!"

I worked for GM corporate in Detroit up until last November, I can't wait for my buddies to tell me how these recalls affect their bonuses next year

Dude my buddy worked for gm corporate last year I believe...he ended up wrecking a CTS-V while he was there....drove it right off a cliff into a swamp after taking a corner too fast lol

Zensation 06-17-2014 11:46 AM

Why they give their interns corvettes and cts-v's for the weekend i dont comprehend....

I get off at 7-7:15ish then I'll have to get wherever we want to eat, and Thursday night I've got things to do once i get home as well. I just don't see the karting working into my night.

Ha... that's probably the nicest place in Detroit we went. That place is soooo freakin' sketchy. I wasn't ever truly scared but it was uncomfortable carrying all my expensive gear around just walking from the parking deck to the hotel a block away. One of the few times I've ever really missed not having my carry... :icon14:

brancky3 06-17-2014 02:22 PM

Detroit is indeed very sketchy. If you stay near the Greektown casino downtown you're generally safe, but I never liked walking around without a few people walking with me.

HKYStormFront 06-17-2014 03:57 PM

Yeah we literally stayed right across the road from GM headquarters at the Courtyard Mariot. Greektown Casino was just to the our northwest a few blocks. Still, we went to some shady places to eat. Slow's BBQ over on Michigan Ave was awesome but while we were waiting for a table outside people kept asking us for money. Glad we had a good sized group :)

Side note: Driving the speed limit in our rental car (base model Versa), I was able to almost get airborne crossing an intersection on Michigan Ave due to how rutty it was crossing a different street o.O
