Yeah LTH's on 370's are obnoxious loud, even with a good exhaust/muffler setup. My roommate a few years ago had that on his 370 and it shook the damn house during cold start idling.

AHHHH so antsy to get the BRAP-mobile running! the final piece to my build to get her running should be here Friday. This week is gonna go by so slow.

Do you know what kind of resonators he had? |
I'm asking him now, I know it was a FI catback, I'm not sure which cans he had. I believe they were the larger stainless as well. I don't remember them being the CF ones.
Having said that, I think the CF ones sound awesome (there's probably little difference honestly). They have a slightly different sound, it's not quite as metallic or sharp especially when jumping up and down in revs. The LTH's and exhaust that my roommate had were crazy loud on startup but just had a slight burble at warm idle and while there was a lout of noise in the cabin from the exhaust, they didn't really drone much. |

He had the FI catback with 18" resonators, the smaller ones I believe. Let's put it this way, if you are worried about disturbing the neighbors, I wouldn't get it because it's that loud on startup. If you aren't, it's probably fine. The sound is great, there's just a lot of it. Not that raspy Honda-ish sound.
|
Even after cold start it's loud. It sounds great, but it's just turned up to eleven...thousand. Seriously, I love em on a race car, but it's a bit over the top for all but the most committed street cars. IMO, the resonated HFCs plus the cf CBE is the best sounding option out there. Of course I'm a bit biased. It's loud when you hoon it, and tame when idle or cruising.

I heard Nissan didn't show up to the auto show this year. I swear it keeps getting smaller and smaller. You see more at C&C.

Yeah there is no Nissan presence that I have heard of or seen on their social media.
Also........... Geoff's car is not feeling strong anymore :( We're taking it to the hospital in Asheville tomorrow |
It's true apex seals seem to be fine but boost spike popped a corner seal. The bad news is it took out my turbine wheel as well. :(

Well the verdict is in and its not good. BUT it could be worse!!! First off The shop that did the previous rebuild lied to me and not only did they lie but they performed an abomination to rebuilds. The used factory mazda 3 piece seals which havnt even been manufactured in 10 years. The left out some seals and steve (my newly acclaimed rotary mechanic) was surprised it even developed intake pressure. Little nuts and bolts missing everywhere and internal engine seals poorly installed.
The bad: gouged out rear rotor housing and burred up rotor as well and some chipped apex seals.. The Fix: Full on half bridge ports for high boost capability and new borg warner s363 turbo good for 800 hp on a 1.3 liter (once I have all the supporting mods). add meth injection to get 93 pump gas up to 105-110 octane so I don't have to use race gas. all with a warranty from the shop and im not paying until I take delivery. pics for attention http://www.the370z.com/members/zensa...22154215-2.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/zensa...-122503674.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/zensa...-122250178.jpg |
It's a sad day in Mudville :(

So your sig line should read:
__________________ 370z NISMO 0675 327 rwhp 280 rwtq - sold. Current: FD RX7 single turbo build pending. ~420 500 0 rwhp w/ street port |
how bout this....
|
lol!!

Hate to hear the bad news Geoff, hopefully the shop gets everything sorted out sooner than later.

Welcome Jay!
Too bad your so far away we have a pretty good car crew scattered about the upstate area. Not sure how the scene is down there. |

mainly meant the forum group and the other accessory car people from the area

Actually Sumter has a pretty thriving car scene, thanks in no small part to Shaw.
We have a dozen or so members in Sumter. If you're up for it, we're having a cruise down the Charleston Saturday. I think 4 or 5 from Sumter are going. We'll be meeting up outside Cola and cruising down together. |
