I would recommend not going into Helen. Octoberfest will still be going on (in fact last weekend of the event) and the traffic is worse than normal.

hrmm thats a good idea.. helen is normally terrible anyway even with out events.

sigh.. i just dropped my car off at the dealership! woo.. cant wait.

The ride to the site where I went to the retreat was through the mountains and had some pretty nice and tough turns. I'm just not familiar with the area.

James.. cars in yo. Ahh a good set of wheels would finish it! :p

A pace discussion is a good idea! I can't keep up with you 350s and 370s LOL. I guess I'll need to invest in a 2 way radio. My cell service is not existent there.

yea we need to stress this is going to be a nice cruise. i went on a mountain cruise in NC a few weekends ago and we lost a car when the driver got in over his head :(

daisuke149 10-12-2010 08:31 AM

yeah im up for that. no one wants to lose their car.. or themselves.

HKYStormFront 10-12-2010 08:48 AM

yea there is nothing wrong with having some fun but keep the "testing the limits of my car" driving to track days where its legal and safer to do so. i love a good curvy mountain road (and curvy woman too...) but we need to be safe about it. luckily both the guys in the car that rolled were not hurt, i wouldn't want to tempt that fate again

JvKintheUSA 10-12-2010 09:32 AM

I'll bring my set of two-way radios - that is, if I can make it. Wife might have to work, so I would need to watch the kids. Will find out this week.

daisuke149 10-12-2010 09:49 AM

bring the kids... we should have enough empty passenger seats!
