August meet of the Georgia G&Z Group will be on August 15, 2010

Meet starts at 3pm on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We should go in to eat at 4pm at Taco Mac.

If you miss us on the parking deck, ask the Taco Mac hostess for the big car group and you should be sent to sit with us.

Directions:
--Get to I-285 and exit north onto Ashford Dunwoody (one exit east of GA 400)
--Go straight on Ashford Dunwwody past Perimeter Mall
--Turn left at Perimeter Center West just after passing Perimter Mall (there is a Bank of America on the right and a McDonalds on the left)
--Turn right onto Olde Perimeter Way (it is a shopping center)
--Taco Mac is on the left hand side of the lot, there is a parking deck after you pass the Taco Mac. (Ashford Crossing is actually a road within the shopping center)

If the weather is nice, go to the top of the parking deck so we can take some shots of the cars in the sun!
If the weather is not nice, go to the last covered level of the parking deck and park away from the elevators (towards the back).

Took a little drive up to the North Georgia mountains yesterday. No rain and the roads were pretty dry. Started by Tuners Corner on US 129 up to Brasstown Bald and accross the Richard B. Russel Scenic Highway to Helen, GA.

We need to setup a group mountain drive in the next few months.

It was great meeting some of the new faces today. Hopefully next month will be a bit bigger.

Altogether, we had a great crowd; very friendly, open, and fun.


Oh yea, and Kev, your Z looks superb. We need to do a propershoot soon. ;)

lol, I was telling J&D about seeing some Porsche getting towed home on the way to the meet. Ballers.

I actually towed out there too, and towed home, but then I realized I still had a couple hours until my second and third runs, and drove the car back to run on the street tires since the rain cleared up.

Most people tow because of the tires though.

I'm game anytime! Just LMK.

Dude, I feel asleep at 8:45p and woke up this morning at 2:00am. Couldn't sleep after that.

I had a great time! Good to meet everyone and I hope we do it again next month.

So some asshat driving a G6 GT decided that he didn't want to stop behind the SUV attempting to make a left turn in front of him and dove into the right lane without looking or signaling. Luckily (and I don't believe in luck) I wasn't completely beside him/her because I was obeying the speed limit. Good thing the Akebono's do a nice job of stopping the NISMO on a dime. If that individual would have hit me, I could not have been held accountable for my actions afterward. Forget the insurance, I would have gotten my payment up close and personal...............

Guy was lucky they were already loading him into the ambulance.

Story gets worse. Idiot tow truck driver drops the car off the back of a flat bed and takes out the rear of the car. Car is definitely done at that point. It was a really bad day.
