It definitely is a paint issue from Nissan, there are additional spots now showing up on the hood in other areas not related to the clear bra. The shop I took it to spot painted the flawed sections...

It is a brief rattle, every cold start - so maybe it's a little longer than 5 seconds but no more than 15.

It would be surprising that the rattle would go away due to heat expansion that quickly...

Well, there is a little more... The car is a bone stock 2011 touring sport coupe. The track is the Great Plains Raceway near Denver, about 2.50 miles in length...
