A decent sound system 3k? I do not think so. A nice kenwood head unit and a set of polk db's will set you back maybe 1k add a sub and amp and your looking at around 1500. 3k for above mid range...

Just make sure if this is a bose system to run new speaker wire and use a new amp else you can blow the bose amp because of the ohms ratings.

The polk db's will fit WITHOUT a spacer ring direct fit and even use the same holes using the adapter ring that comes with the polks.

The only thing you will have to make or cut up is the tweeter...
