There has to be a length difference. I really dont know what else would explain the need to modify the stub if they were a straight plug and play unit? We had to shave a good deal off of it to fit it...

The ring you swap over so the gear ratio wont change... this is only going from open diff to VLSD. Just a cheap mod to get rid of the dreaded "peg leg"
