It might even out the torque curve slightly at the upper end, resulting in a higher HP level near redline, or even cause a surge of torque...

Basically as you open up restrictions on the exhaust you lose tq at the bottom end, and gain HP at the top end.

You have to have a certain amount of restriction in the exhaust to keep your low end...
