So in essence, if you had called the first commercial released tune Prod 1 instead of Rev 4, you could have reduced by at least 1/2 the posts of the "offended few". Who says names don't have power! :D

Probably enough to push two pistons out the hood, 2 out the side of the engine housing, and two through the oil pan. :D

People are comparing results from different magazines. I've seen MT get a 4.6 on the 370Z vs. 4.9 from C&D vs. 5.1 from Edmunds & others. That's a 1/2 second swing on the exact same car. This is all...

no way you are only going to get a .2 second advantage. If the SC only make 100 hp, that should equal just under a 1 second difference. It was probably an apples to oranges compare (i.e. different...

I was under the impression (correct me if I'm wrong) that the whole reason Stillen was using the weird tuning solution (locked down tune) was because it was required to get CARB cert. I've heard...

I know you're pissed, but if it were me, I'd go back to the "driveable" tune and just sit on it until Stillen can come up with a fix or stops trying. It doesn't cost you anything, and if the...

Does the tune actually have to be "locked down" and unalterable to get CARB? I thought someone mentioned that that was why Stillen was going this particular uprev route and why standard tuning...

I totally understand, I was just pointing out that getting a tune elsewhere won't meet his criteria. Others are suggesting this as a solution but he has indicated he wants the CARB cert. He can't...

He wants CARB cert (even though he'll never pass with his other mods). A GTM tune won't help here any more than any other 3rd party tune.

I have to agree with Chris. It makes more since to get a custom tune than to tear all the gear out and replace it. You obviously don't need to hold out for a Stillen tune for Carb cert considering...

True, but somewhere between Uprev, Stillen, and trying to achieve CARB cert, the game got a little more complicated. Both Stillen and Uprev thought they had a tune that met all the criteria but...

Uprev is trying to provide a tune that can't be changed in certain areas as a requirement for CARB cert. Or have I read this wrong?

It would cost him even more money but it would be a great data point in trying to answer the question of whether a too free flowing exhaust negatively effects the actual numbers when SCing.

Cali's car laws are insane. If they are so concerned, have the car pass or fail a sniffer test, none of this visual "maybe it looks too funny" bullshite law enforcment seems to use.
