When I talked to Chet he didn't say anything definite but he indicated that he may offer it as a kit after Travis tests it out successfully. So basically we're all sitting around on our thumbs until...

I tried using a more aggressive pad in the rear only but it didn't help other than making the rear lock up prematurely. The stock bias already favors the rear somewhat and then it uses ABS to dial...

How high do you think you could go in a streetable car before it starts to break my back? I don't do that many highway miles in general, but need to be able to drive a few hundred to the track.

I took temperature readings yesterday at the auto-x but the day was cooler and the wind was strong. No ice-mode today. Peak rotor temperatures were a mild 350F and calipers were only 220F. There...

Lots of track pads don't, but that doesn't mean you can't use them as long as the shim fits. I guess it could be a little tight with brand new pads in some cases.

It was for the Berk 135i Time Attack car. On their first outing they had a horrible time with boiling brake fluid and had to bleed the brakes after every session. I'm guessing they added these to...

I have some friends that are trying this part out on the stock C6 Z06 brakes. A few of them have been cooking calipers as well.

Edit: found this gem on their testimonial - look familiar?

I think you mean pad and caliper. Their testing methods were pretty lame, I would be interested to see some real world data.

This weekend I have an auto-x and will be taking careful temperature measurements of rotor, caliper and brake line both front and rear after every run using an infrared thermometer. This is about as...

I would like to think that the ABS could be reprogrammed, but I'm 99% sure that Nissan we never do this unless a flaw can be easily reproduced under street driving conditions, and that the flaw leads...

It's a possibility. But in this case it would be the stock BBK (small BBK?) that was misapplied. Has anyone with base brakes experienced ice-mode?

I will say that the AP Racing kit goes for a...

Same thing happens to me. I thought it was fade at first, but the ABS ends up pulsing the front brakes, not the rear. If the fronts were overheated you would expect the rear brakes to be doing all...

Ok picked up an Infrared thermometer from Grainger, it's good up to 1832F. If anything on my car gets that hot I expect spontaneous combustion!

I could measure the temperature of the hard brake line at certain points. In theory after a 10 minute sit the line that wraps the fluid should be close in temperature due to conductive heat...

This is where it seems to get a little different between us.

I can brake as hard as I want for about 3 runs. After that I get ice-mode under firm straight line braking every time. It doesn't...

I don't think the overall temperatures are high enough to induce pad fade but it is a theory I will investigate.

One thing that doesn't add up with that theory is that the brakes fully return...

Sounds like you were getting pad fade, which certainly does trigger the ice-mode in these cars. Despite the large rotors the heat seems to build up very quickly and there isn't adequate ventilation...

I think you got pad fade. Pad fade seems to really freak the ABS out because the rear brakes are working but the front brakes aren't at full capacity. End result is the ice-mode behavior but for...
