You can turn this off without touring as well, it's described in the manual. If I remember correctly you have to start the car or turn on accessories and within 30 seconds hit and hold the door lock...

It works great for wheels, might not work great for glass though. Although I'm sure it would repel water it's probably not going to be perfectly clear.
