I went to home depot and bought diamond shaped aluminum mesh and the form fitted it to the inside of my bumper.

Also I cannot comment on the gauge question.

The oil pan is great because it provides better cooling and it is pretapped for oil feed lines and stuff. Also with zspeed shroud I wouldn't worry about it. Plus DM you aren't lowered at all.
