Maybe crack them loose and retighten to the appropriate torque spec so it's easier to remove later? Of course, you're boned if you snap one off.

Nobody said not to get it. We just told you that you'll have to take it off to change the oil. It's not a big deal at all. Especially when you consider what you have to go through to change the air...

Even if you could get the oil filter out through the trap door with the sandwich plate installed, every drop of oil inside it would either end up on the undertray or in your face.
